Moon units vol.2 (03/20/06)

These were requested by woodelf for Song of Moon MOD. I'm especially proud of the SAM infantry, I think it turned out pretty well.
I didn't modify the main textures for any of the units other than the SAM Inf. because it would've taken forever and I've tons of other stuff in the works. Speaking of which, all those waiting for my fantasy-related unit modifications, or just other unit mod's in general, I assure you I'm working on it :) - expect few new units over the next few days and more on the weekend.

Btw, I was this close to getting transparent visors (for helmets) to work, but it only worked properly in the viewer. As soon as I'd load the unit in the game it would go back to not drawing the head inside the helmet, and considering I didn't think of checking these units in game until I already did two of them with the new helmets, needless to say it was very frustrating. :wallbash:

Yeah I know :) I'll try to do some star wars themed units at some point but right now there's just too many other things :hammer2:

Can these be skinned Rabbit? Might save you the trouble if someone turned the SAM white.
 
Hey, the engineer in his normal worker outfit was funny too. ;) Just let Woodelf texture it and 't will be fine.
 
The helmeted scout could have a use on a world with decent air temp, but non-breathable air, or he could be Aquaman, if Aquaman needed a helmet....

Yeah, but my skinning days are few and far between now. I'll see how hard it would be to add something to the barechested man.
 
These units can be skinned as usual, just modify the DDS files. As for the barechested scout, yeah as I mentioned I only did the texture for the SAM 'cause it's a very slow process for me, and in many cases with less than satsifying results. I mean, modeling the SAM mask and rocket launcher and slapping all these bits on all these units took me far less time than actually making that SAM texture, and it was one of the simpler ones.

Maybe C.Roland could give these a makeover :)
 
No ones complaining Rabbit. I think they're busting my balls for asking for a scout. ;)
 
How difficult would it be to put the military helmet on that retextured SAM infantry, Rabbit, White?
