changing IP address

We have a regular group of 6 people, playing every Monday night. I always host the game on my computer and everyone connects via Direct IP connection.

On my broadband connection, my IP address changes occasionally. It's a pain making sure everyone connecting to the game has the right IP address.

Is there any way that I give everyone one IP address and have that always connect to my variable address? I've heard that DDNS can do that, but I don't know anything about it.

My router (Linksys RT41-BU) has a DDNS option, but it's disabled.

Thanks for any help/ideas.

The answer is www.no-ip.info

Yeah, I read that webpage but I don't understand how to implement it... I'm a newbie in this department.

Would Civ4 accept a URL instead of an IP address in the address box for Direct IP connection?

And how would no-ip get notified when my IP address changed?

EDIT: I found some info on their support page. Maybe I can figure it out.

Create account -then you install small program running on your machine which checks fo your ip every (you can set this) 3sec/min/hours ... the problem that i have is the adress box in the Civ4 is too short for this long adress , so your teammates can just ping your account lets say blabla.no-ip.info and will get your IP.

BTW am running PB , and the players have problems connecting through directPlay , so i make my game "internet" so its posted on Gspy (with pass ofcourse) , this way your players dont need IP nor port number , Gspy does all the work (and spy on your game btw)
