Well, I've got the Modern era defensive unit for the FF mod done; the Sniper. Basically this lady is armed with a semi-auto sniper rifle, and she could possibly be used for a number of things (one that comes to mind is that sniper chick from Enemy at the Gate). Most of the animations were copied from the Ivalician mediator, but I altered the Attack A animation to represent a modern semi-auto rifle, and I made a completely new Attack B and Victory animations.....

UPDATE: I have re-done the civ color textures and almost all the animations as well as the civilopedia icons, and uploaded a completely new version HERE

Hey wow, nice female partisan unit! (Reminds me a bit of a character from the movie "Force 10 from Navarone" or whatever it's called.) I especially like the semi-auto attack animation...

The empty casings spitting out are a great visual Hikaro. Nice work.

Did i tell you how much i like the atack :) (and the empty casing flying also).
She doesn't need all that "armor" on. :D

Glad you guys like her.... I'm half tempted to enter her into the April Unit competition, but I'm going to wait and see what UtahJazz7 and/or Aaglo enter first......

Nice Unit Hikaro Takayama and as others have said, the casings add a nice touch:goodjob:
Just my opinion but one thing you might consider adjusting in the future...the weapon appears to be overly light weight by the way she so effortlessly slings it around with one arm and wrist action. IF she held it in the middle with one hand and ran with it to her side only, slightly swinging it or held it with both hands across her front, that would show more weight and look more natural.

Again, I'd rather see a run animation with the rifle shouldered, or atleast held in two hands. Other than that its real good. Attack Animation is great.

Really nice!

How about a female musketwoman with those 16th century muskets next? :mischief:

Yeah... That's a BIG problem with the Poser 5 walk designer.... I had the "swing arms" part of the run animation tweaks set to -200 (minimum), and what you see is what I got.... on a normal, unmodified run animation, she'd be shoving the barrel of the rifle up her nose. I wish I could find a solution for this, but I can't... I may just make future rifle-armed units have the rifle slung over their shoulder (like the Shinra SOLDIER's sword), and have them take it off their shoulder for the fortify animation..... But that's even more work for me.....

Yeah... That's a BIG problem with the Poser 5 walk designer....
Hikaro Takayama, I totally Understand and my "two cent" critique wasn't meant to criticize at all. Poser 5 does have some problems, Poser has changed hands a few times and each time, Poser has had changes. Poser 4 and 6 are better than Poser 5 for several reasons but again, this is yet another opinion  Probably the best way to prevent that poser situation if unable to correct it would be to have the unit Run holding the Rifle more stationary with Both Hands. Truth is most soldiers do Run holding a Rifle with both hands, ready to use it as needed and because they Guard their weapon with their lives. This would also prevent the need to animate a fortify flc where the rifle is taken off the shoulder.

Well, if it were possible to have the walk designer ONLY effect the lower body (Hip and legs) without moving the upper part, I would do just that, but the Walk designer moves the entire body, and trying to edit any upper body/arm movement out of every single freakin' frame is too much work for someone who has a full-time job and a busy family life and a mod that's almost 1 year overdue for release due to still needing a quite a few units (i.e. me).

Hikaro Takayama...you probably already know this but we can also select (edit) Keyframes after first creating the Walk and make changes to the body parts we want altered. By adding as few new Keyframes as possible, Poser will fill in the rest so it doesn't have to be extremely time consumming for the "adjustments" but yes, it does take time none the less...all part of the Joys of animating
