I just downloaded the 1.22 patch C3C, and now my computer won't read the disc! What's wrong?

I have the C3C and have found a couple times I will click on the desktop icon for CIV and it will say something about disc not found...

All I do is just go to My Computer, the CD Rom drive, right click it and hit autoplay and it works.

Conquests. And for me, even that doesn't work. Whenever I try to do anything to get into C3C, A box says "Please insert the Civilization III: Conquests CD-ROM, hit OK and restart application."

About that- In my device manager, there's no "IDE controller properties". There is, however, something called "IDEATA/ATAPI controllers" with primary and secondary channels, the only thing there with primary and secondary channels, and nothing in either one that has anything about "drive access mode". Also, I have an older computer that uses a CD-ROM drive, not a DVD-ROM drive. So for people who this won't work, will someone please find a solution?? :( :( :(

Help us Firaxis!

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with my won't read disc problem, but whenever I try to open the editor, it says "cannot open file for reading". Although it still opens, all of the playable civilizations have disappeared! Also, I can't start a new game, or do quickstart or tutorial (tried just to see if it would work) in vanilla version without first loading an old game. FIRAXIS, please find solutions to these problems!!

BTW, where are the PTW and C3C editors?

Should be in submenus. Start/Programs/Infogrames Interactive/Civ3PTW/PTW Editor or Start/Programs/Atari/Conquests/Conquests Editor. Or go to the folder where the executable is and look for an application with 'edit' in the filename.

Fixed! :) apparantly, a file called "civ3mod" was nesscary, but I had previously deleted it because i didn't know. But I restored it from the recycle bin and the Editor works! I bet the civ3 vanilla bug is gone too.

EDIT: Yes, it's gone! :)

strange, I can find the Conquests Editor but not the PTW editor. BTW, how do I unninstall the 1.22 patch? I wanna play C3C again, even if it's on 1.00!

Okay, new problem. I just uninstalled the patch and C3C, which uninstalled PTW also (installed through C3C), and I decided to install PTW to get the unit packs and editor, then installed C3C, which worked just fine.
Only problem is, now I can't play vanilla or PTW.    I think I'll try uninstalling C3C and PTW (but temporarily moving the unit packs so I can save them :) ), then installing C3C and see if that works.

IT... DIDN'T... WORK... :aargh: Do I have to uninstall everything or something?

Well now, that's odd. After deleting and restroring some stuff, PTW worked again, but I couldn't get civ3 to work? :hmm:

Hey! It works again! I guess it just can't work when my C3C is installed :crazyeye: Oh well. I guess I'll only install C3C in between my SG turns! :crazyeye:

Hmm. Maybe I'll try deleting the PTW folder then installing C3C, then see if vanilla works, then put the PTW stuff back, and see if it still works- if not, I don't care that much.
