Does the no anarchy help much in this game? I never play as a Spiritual civ. Is the no anarchy all that useful?

No anarchy means you can switch many many many times according to the situation. Switch off theocracy or nationhood if you're taking a break from making units, and put it back on when you're cranking out the military. Switch all civics for one turn to get good diplomacy with a certain leader. Change to police state for 5 or 6 turns to have all cities crank out a solid unit each. Change to a rushing civic if necessary.

I haven't tried the spiritual trait, but I hope to soon. My favorite two traits are Financial and Creative.

When I was playing on marathon game, the game tells us to wait 5 - 15 turns of Anarchy if you're non-spiritual civ, changing multiple civics, and possess large empire closing toward domination victory.

It's told me to wait when I was spiritual too. I do wish it could at least be cut in half for spiritual civs though. No anarchy is very nice and lets you react right away, but you can't bounce from one civic to another any time you want.

It'd be overpowered if you didn't have the brief period of "no revolts allowed" after changing civics. You could, say, micromanage your cities so they all produce a military unit on a particular turn, then run Police State / Vasslage / Theocracy to get a huge XP bonus and some nice overflow towards your next unit, then immediately switch back to your less-expensive civics.

Don't play Spiritual or you will seduced into wanting it every game and be irritated by not having it. It is worse than being spoiled by having the big G's fast workers.

I'm not wild about it, i think aggressive is more usefull, that strength promo comes in handy for my warmongering.

edit:

sigh, i looked this up after the original posting, Mony has Aggressive AND Spiritual, so that would make the above mentions really really handy, pity i think the jaguars suck

Oh, yes. Monty totally rocks on games that start in the Modern / Future Era. You've already got all your civics unlocked, nobody else (except the Americans) has any UU either so you don't have to worry about your poor one, and you can just roll over everyone with your free-Combat-I Mech Infantry (I like to give them the anti-gunpowder promotion from the barracks).
