Science Discussion 4B: We missed Taoism...

Well folks, I have bad news. Someone beat us to Taoism, probably Mansa Musa (he's going to be a runaway, but that's another matter).

So what are we going to do now? I just recently found this out so I haven't had time to look up any numbers or draft up a plan, but I thought I'd open up discussion so you can post your thoughts here.

Some possible ideas:
- We've neglected military for a while, maybe Catapults or Metal Casting?
- Get boats so we can find the other continent(s)

From the SoW( I am term limited so only a while left.)

Unless we decide to conquer our whole continient right now..we can afford to invest some tech into our economy which frankly stinks. We need the economy building techs. Otherwise all the militray tech in the world wont help us. We need to quit chasing rainbows and concentrate on a more balanced approached.

Yeehh... I tried to propose that, but nowbody had listend to me... Now it's propably even late to reserch literature and build TGL. So do what you want.

What tech could we research right now that could help our economy?

I guess since we poured so much resources into it we should just finish it and get on with life. I think the final dission is up to the Minister of science.

yer but the beakers remain there, they dont switch over. so we could research it at a later date.

I know but these beakers will just sit there, making it an even greater wasted investment. Who knows how long it will get put off for?

While I appreciate the difference that Literacy + TGL could do for our science, I think stabilising the economy via Maths(preferably from the Mongols)->Currency is of greater benefit.

I'm also with various other people in thinking that stopping Philosophy is sensible, I can't see us trading it in the near future and that's about the only value it would have for us at the moment.
