This is a collection of miscellaneous items that I created, some by request others just on a whim. I'm going to use this thread also in the future to post any other misc. items when I make them.

Original Post

The items are - three banners (large scale, probably will need to be scaled down to use), chinese style hat, two shoulder armor pads and a tower shield.

Added Gondorian (LOTR) Infantry Helm


As you can see from the shot the texture on it is very highrez in comparison to the unit, that's because it's 128x128, i.e. the one helm uses as much texture as the entire unit. It's probably somewhat of a waste but I based it (the texture) on a nice big image of the helm and I just couldn't bring myself to downsize it so much. You can however simply resize it to 64x64 if you wish to save on resources a bit.

seZereth asked for some shields for the undead so I made a couple based on these pics. They are pretty simple but with a lot of potential with the right kind of texture. They also fully support gloss, though no team colors.

I am not posting any screenshots yet because I didn't actually texture them, just mapped them. I hope that when seZ finishes up the textures I'll be able to put up a screeny. You can download the shields here.

You say it like I know which one's the chaos banner :D but yeah I did those on request from Ploep for Warhammer FB banners so I wouldn't be surprised if they work for WH40K. :)

Heh - it's the one on the right with all the pointy bits on ;)
 
nice stuff Rabbit! well, ok this sets some expectations on us, i think people want to see some flagcarriers in WH FB... whats still missing is the musician ;)

well, i used the chokuno shield as a japanese hat, but thanks for that one too ;) i think the ancient asian units should get him.

Well, Rabbit this one is a real strong request, could you do a more triangle shaped Hood (not high polys) ?! like seen on this page

These shouldn't a problem, I'll try to have them done by the end of the week.

I noticed seZ that you started paying much more attention to the poly counts lately (you keep mentioning them in posts). Is that because you started noticing performance problems with the multitude of new units you and ploep have been making?

No, not really. They were actually insipired by warrior plate armor from Guild Wars. Then again they are fairly generic I think. :)

None that I know of, nobody reported anything yet. But we want to take precautions. The WHmodels should run with the regimentsmod after all. That means a lot more models in the game than normal. So keeping the polies low is the new strategy. But it's not possible for every model we do. We just will try wherever possible. :)

Yea thats it. on my comp, i have the feeling, that it almost doesnt matter at all which graphical issues i take, it lags a bit everytime. i think its more a calculating issue than a graphical.
But as Ploe that, i think its better to keep em low, as we use the regiments. and well, i almost looked at it everytime ;) only didnt mention it. (well ok, tilean light knight is a polymonster :P )

AND BIG THANKS FOR THE HOOD (when its done ;) ) will need it for many units.
