Hi, everybody! I got the idea for this thread from this succesion game- if you look at post 34 on that page, you'll se simple monkey has ten reasons:

Ten Simple Signs that Your Management Skills Need Help

1. All your cities are rioting. For the third turn in a row.

2. Your builds all complete with 4-8 shields overrun. In the Ancient Age.

3. Your one worker is busy clearing jungles. In the Ancient Age.

4. After all the jungles are clear you send your worker to the other side of your empire to mine a mountain. Outside of your culture borders. Without building any roads.

5. You've lost at least 5 buildings from your treasury going below zero.

6. You set the lux slider to 80% for the majority of the game. And your cities still riot.

7. You build aquaducts in tundra cities. Without planting trees. Ever.

8. Your cities are all at least 5 tiles apart. Except in your core, where they're 1 tile apart.

9. You avoid building cities on rivers.

10. Your first build is the Pyramids.

Hope you guys can think of more! :D Well, bye!

Over run is when you have say a 30 shield unit that will take 7 turn as you make 5 net shields per turn. So you made 35 shields and over ran by 5. If you changed things so you made 6 shields, you have a 6 turn build and waste zero shields.

@MAS: WOW!    That's a lot of jungle! I guess that would make it okay. I'm gonna show Simple Monkey that.
@vmxa: your example doesn't work. The 30 shield unit would finish on turn 6 with 0 overrun. And BTW, with 6 shields it's done in 5 turns, not 6. You need to learn to do math better. :borg: :scan:

You're in the middle ages with only 5 cities, 2 are in disorder. you only have one worker, who is roading through a jungle to your furthest away neighbour.

14. When you're one turn from getting a technology, you don't check if you could lower the slider and still get it in the same turn.

16. You leave workers near erupting volcanos

Guys, we really should number these- okay? (Talking to Sashie, Pentium, and azzaman) Here's one:
17: You build your capital one square away from a volcano. on turn #2, it erupts, destroying your capital and killing your worker.

although the part where it erupts might not happen, it's still a bad idea to build cities near volcanoes.

18. Automate obviously makes the workers most efficient...

SLoz? What happened to you? You look so ... different.

19. Why would you bother wasting population on workers if you already have one at the beginning?

20. You can waste population on more useless workers?

If a volcano takes out your one and only city, you win the game by conquest. Yarly.

22. You take fascism as one of your free techs from Theory of evolution in a SG. :D <Here>
