Tells me 10 turns left when I start a game?

I just installed 1.61, and now no matter what I do any new game I start it only gives me 10 turns before a time victory, and even if i disable time victory it still says 10 turns left!! What's going on here?
 
uh, REALLY wierd. are you using any mods or something? because the first thing is to make sure you have no mods for your game because outdated mods can mess it up. try that and see if it works.
 
I got no mods loaded I made sure, I never even played a mod in the past
 
Er... I happen to have been reading about this on another forum just now so your question is a bit of a giveaway, given the highly unusual and very specific nature of the 10-turn problem.

Unless I am very much mistaken you need to reinstall the game and stick to official patches from the developers only, you'll have less trouble that way.
 
Ok I reinstalled, applied the 1.61 patch, and still the 10 day problem... what else did it say on that forum?
 
By chance are you playing a user made scenario? I found if you start a game at one speed (epic for example) then make it into a scenrio with worldbuilder, you'll need to stay with the epic setting because if you try marathon the game will end when the usual amount of turns for the original game speed has passed. Somewhat annoying if you spent a day or so playing marathon and the game ends at 1550 AD. :mad:
 
Nope, just any new game on any setting starts at 4000 AD and ends 10 turns later :(
 
hmm only thing I can think of is either you have demo version or the tutorial switch is stuck on...:confused:
 
Nope I checked all that, unless 1.61 made my game a demo version then i dont think its that either lol, i got the whole thing.
 
Dunno if it's allowed to be discussed here but a recent "crack" was released that doesn't work. Only allows 10 turns. Delete this post if it goes against rules.
 
I was trying to run the No CD with it, apparently thats the problem. Its fine though ill just pop the cd in. Its not against the rules as long as its not warez i believe... the newest no cd for 1.61 causes is

it is against the rules. reverse engineering is not allowed.
 
k sorry didnt know making my life easier was brakin the rules, wont happen again

I always thought that nocd-cracks are meant to be run cracked games only. It seems you have a legal copy of the game :D
