Updated with Musketeer with sword and Musketeer on horse, at the bottom of the post.

First is the Great General unit which is basically a Praetorian on horse with a cape. Reason I call it Great General instead of Praetorian on horse :) is because that's where the idea came from. I always thought that TheLopez made a great choice when he used Praetorian as the Great General, and putting him on horse and giving him a cape, that pretty much seals the deal 's far as I'm concerned. This unit uses Companion Cavalry animations so make sure to point to the proper KFM file.

Next are two units for which I created using a method that AlazkanAssassin pioneered (actually I used it for the above unit as well). There is no particular reason for them, I just had the idea and decided to roll with it. The units are basically Musketman using Explorer animations and sword, and Musketman on horse using Cossak animations. Since Musketman has a kind of a Spanish vibe to it I called these Spanish but obviously use them for whatever you will. Here are the pics:

Note that the effects in the second pic are just photoshoped... how do you like 'em? :)

UPDATE

Ok, and here are the Musketeer versions of these.

I also want to make a musketeer on a horse with a sword (based on conquistador) but it's proving to be more difficult than I thought, so I don't know when it'll be done.

Enjoy

WR, a bunch of great units again...

I guess I need to update the Great General Amped mod to use your new unit now!

One thing, each great person has a special animation when performing their special action. Have you or can you achieve this for the great general?

Slick Rabbit very slick :goodjob:

I piece of advice for the Great General for both you and Lopez, can the Shield be removed? It dosn't seem right for a general to carry a shield, their for rank and file soldiars and it always detracted from me beliving the guy was in charge. You might also want to include one of thouse Roman Legion Standard things I remember thouse being very important in anchient warfare. You have already made some asian sytle banners so I hope this is doable.

Getting the "glow" that GP give off when they activate is a nice effect, I dont realy think the movments are so important so just using an existing sword swinging animation would be fine. Hopefully these are seperate elements and can be pairing up in any combination desired. I think a bloody read glow is most apropriate. Ofcorse we might go with Purple to keep consistent with the Roman Theam.

Their are some nice Pics of Roman Standards and descriptions of Roman Generals on this page, http://www.vroma.org/~bmcmanus/romanarmy.html
Im imagining a vertical pole with 3-4 silver disks along its length toped with an Eagle (wings spread ofcorse)

Thanks everyone. :)

@TheLopez: I'll look into it but first of all it's certainly not going to be any new animation, and really chances of this working are slim at best.

@Impaler[WrG]: The glow idea is nice and might be implementable more easily, I'll check it out. As for the shield, since it's much easier to remove it than add it I'm going to leave it in, and if you use the GG mod and want to have him without the shield just remove it using the NIF viewer, it'll take you 2 minutes. :) (Or maybe Lopez will decide to remove the shield)

I condsidered adding something like a banner or standard but these were carried by other soldiers, not the general himself. I'm just not sure where to put it exactly. :)

How did you put units on horses? The viewer always crashes when I do. Also you should update your sig

May I repeat this question for my sake?;) :p , Rabbit I would love it if you could PM me too about this question, this would open up endless possibilities.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could PM me about that :) .
Thanx

Three quick questions Rabbit , please?

Why when I put the unit in the game are his hands straight up in the civopedia?

My game freezes when I try to put the unit in the game using world builder , why would that happen?

Could I make this a Roman Cavalry with anim?

Hmm, either you made a mistake in XML or I messed up the model. Which unit are you specifically talking about?

Well I got it on my own. It was my mistake and after double checking everything I figured it out. Anyway awesome unit (great general) and if you dont mind I would like to post the unit I created out of it, Equites (Roman Cavalry). I will give you full credit for the graphics and all of the work, all I did was a little XML editing and removed the shield. Let me know either way.
