If you are interested in playing you should download the scenario and try it a bit in Single Player first. It's a great scenario so you won't regret it!

The game is different from the Epic rules, so knowing the units and the specific aspects of the scenario is important (such as the key role of subs) so some experience in the scenario is required.

If you don't mind having an inexperienced player, I would like China.
No problemo. But beware that China isn't an easy game and it can be frustrating because it's a very defensive game. It has good defensive units but lacks the offensive units to do much damage against the Japanese giant.

But now you should DL the scenario and play with a bit in single player. Try China in Single Player to see how you adapt.

I will join as someone, i just need to practice somewhat before i join.

USA might be for me.

China was quite difficult. I'm not sure I have the skill to play them, and the US/Japan are too major for me to play -- I couldn't handle the pressure.

I'm not sure there's a civ small enough for me to play.

What do you think?

You know, i have to drop usa, since a) I don't think i'm experienced enough to play so important nation b) my summer schedule will limit my computer time, so I can't really take any more PBEMs...

The Netherlands is not really a viable nation to be played on it's own. China is a very defensive game, but it can be a pain in the neck for the Japanese. I think China is a good nation to start with.

Let's us see if we have other players.

hmm Luthor mate , if I'd never tried a PBEM you won't take me .

I'm looking around and found that you need a last player . . .

Says who?

The most important thing is that you download the scenario and try it a bit because it's different from the standard. One key aspect is the submarines that in this scenario are extremly usefull as no unit can see them in the beginning of the game.

If you want to take CW+NL, maybe I can take Japan. I'm not too confident to take over Japan but I can have a try at it.

Eric, sure.

Quadratic, do u want China?

P.S. For some strange reason I've been having difficulties in posting today

Hmm...I think not.

I'm really quite busy. Sorry.

Okay I'll dl and check the scenario today , and I agree to play with Chine since I don't really mind what civ to play cuz it's my 1st PBEM : \

btw Luthor , do you mean you can't even see the submarines when your sub is near foe's one ?

You need research the ASW tech before your can build destroyers that
'see" subs. Once you get the tech you can upgrade all your DDs
into ASW DDs.

But if you are playing China you start with no ports so subs will be the
least of your worries.

Ohh I understand :) I hope I'll deal with China and be cool .
oh btw , is this scenario full with units ? actually my worriness is about the loading time of the scenario :(

There are a lot of units, though not as big as some of Eric's other scenarios! The loading isn't that long considering you only play once every few days (I play civ on a p4 1.8ghz, 512mb ram).

Good luck with China. Just so you know, they usually take quite a beating (though I've not seen them in v4). I just got slaughtered as China in a similar scenario! ;)

Okay I'm now checking the game with China , it loads it very fast so no problems .. I'd few problems with the Scenario loading missing entries errors but I fixed it ..
I hope Eric will fix it . you need to add in pediaicons line above Jap_DD : #ANIMNAME_PRTO_Jap_DD

and add below #ANIMNAME_PRTO_CW_DD
CW_DD .. and it'll fix it ;)
