well i've had civ for about a month now and won 1 prince game. i have been in 1 SG that was canceled and currently in one at the momment. so i wanted to host my own SG with original varriants (hope they've not been done).i had to choose betwwen this and another, which i'll probably play late so here it is.

the setttings:

leader: random
map: lakes or continents
size: standard
no. of players: seven
options: can be decieded by team, but permenant aliances is there.

the variant:

i'm trying to get an insight on how the computer plays. so the varriants are to take an insight on how the computer works. this means we will take all advise the computer gives us and follow it.

how it will work

here's a list of what we must obey. for the game to work make sure that you have game advise switched on.

1. research,
whenever we go to research a new tech we must ollow the games advise.

2. indireict advise
if we get messages which have no orders specified we must try to do what the ai would.

if a message said review your civic options we wouln't have to do anything but we should try to change perhaps to our leaders fav civic.

3. direct advise
this includes things with yes/no answers, we will say yes.

we want the archer

4. workers
after dicussion we decied workers are to be set to automated the whole game.

5. city placement
yep you guessed it citys must be placed in blue circle's

this is actually an image from later in the game so open at your own risk
Spoiler :

6. specialist's
we can asign these as we want. but we must keep specialist's asigned by the computer.

7. buildings
same as techs we must follow comps recommendation.

players may reccommend any others as they wish

roster:

thanks, you can join however we might have to close from lack of intrest.

I'm an always-win-at-Prince / always-lose-at-Monarch player. I'll play if you'll have me.

I never never take the computer's advice so this could be a challenge. I'm not sure you can win at Prince level with automated workers. In fact, why not start off with automated workers, and let the city governors choose the build orders and what tiles to work? Then all that's left to us is figure out how to salvage a victory from all their bad decisions.

you can join, good idea's too, try to do as little effort and let the computer handle it.

Did a bit of thinking about this variant (and also to give the thread a bump to get more interest hopefully), the real problem is going to come in victory type. Why is this, glad you asked...:D

Diplomatic

Never seen the AI recommend United Nations, so therefore no diplomatic victory.

Space Race

Ditto for SS parts and Space Elevator.

Cultural

Would be a real stretch as the AI wouldn't recommend the city to switch to producing culture and you would have to swap state religions constantly to be able to get the AI to recommend the relevant missionaries to get multi religion cities for multiple cathedrals.

Domination

Possible but not easy. You need a mix of military, economic and cultural builds to balance a domination victory, so you'd have to plan carefully.

Conquest

The only "easy" victory type I can see. The AI loves pumping out huge armies. It wouldn't be the best balanced army but a huge one none-the-less.

Well hopefully we can get this off the ground.

Diplomatic is very possible as long as we're #1 or #2 in population. If an AI builds the UN, we can get elected Secretary General. Population shouldn't be a problem -- the AI tends to farm too many tiles.

you forgot time. if we can stop through war ect the ai from building ss parts. we could have the highest score at 2050 AD, its a long shot but we could make it.

anyway we still need 2 more people to join , so if our reading this thread then join.

This sounds interesting so if you are still looking for Players (Monarch is the level I consistently now win at) then count me in

i'm guessing this varriant is going to be harder than expected and since we don't have many players you can join.

Hey i'd love to join if you'll have me thanks for joining mine sand.

sure you can join. i'll post the start now and play my turns tommorow.
tuns will go
30, 30, 20, 20 ,20, then 10's. please say if you think thats to many. its just that way everyone plaays atleast more than 10 there first turns set.
i'll play lakes so ew don't get 1 tile from the coast locations

Hey sand also check the oil cat thread I posted our start.

incase you just missed out on joining, then there are 2 alternate places and prehaps if you ask really nicely i could squeze another player in.

any way the game
we draw

and our start

i moved the warrior north to reveal the resources.
remember we can't move unless we see another blue circle

preety good because of the river but no resources so far we can use right away

Blue circle, it is. I like the river and one flood plain that should probably get farmed without any other food bonuses around. We'd better pop both kinds of metals and horses in the near future.

yeah good ideas hopefully we have more resources and we just can't see them.
