This is the design for the Malakim civ in FfH II.
I post it here for everyone who cant wait for the next version or who wants to comment things (give me hints for the future ;) ), for example about using the swordsman head (with different drawn faces) so often for one civ...

The Knight, The swordsman and The maceman

The Pikeman, The Shieldwall and The Chariot

and as a littel bonus you get the red creature (greaver.zip) on the screenies here too
(in FfH II it will replace the Balseraphs Warrior)

Have fun

Spectacular job seZ. That chariot looks fantastic. As I said in the other thread...the Greaver is cool. He could be a voodoo witch doctor as well. :)

Wow, these look awesome seZ :goodjob: I gotta say my favorite unit here is the Greaver -looks wicked and very menacing. As for using the swordsman's head, well first of all with the different textures it's not a big deal, but you could always alternate between it and the warrior's head - it's almost identical, but with a few small differences that should keep the faces/heads varied enough. Also, consider using some of the prophets' heads - you could create older looking warriors, or just ones with beards, and a different haircuts. The Buddhist's head would be perfect for a bald warrior, and the christian head could work for officers (though you'd need to figure out what to do with those patches of hair around the bald spot :)).

I varied the swordsman and warriors head with the elves, here i thought about using the swordsman head, cause i had to put in the swordsman.dds anyway cause of the Shoulderplates. (ok, one could rename textures, realign them and thwen place it in the shared folder... but i did not think of it until i had finished the last unit... and then i was too tired to do it, but perhaps i will think of it with the next bunch of units i do...)

Otherwise hell you, i like the idea of having older soldiers and such, i will look for more "personality" with the next units i do.

And hell they worship the SUN, so they are to be bright and golden ;)

I could also try to combine several head UVs onto one texture file. That would help. (Eg. one texture with 4 different swordmans heads on it.) Of course it would be more specific and only usable for those compilations and not for general use.

Love the greaver guy. I would have guessed he was a Doviello unit because he is so wild looking. Very scary.

It looks a bit like the chariot guy doesn't actually have the sword in his head, but it is floating next to him instead

Keal decided on this.... i just had an idea for a unitlook without thinking about giving it to a certain civ ;)

That is the vanilla Chariot, sword and shield are in one mesh, so i cant change possition of sword without messing with the position of the shield.

I begin to love the golden Malakim! Now they only need a deeper and more specific gameplay. I can't wait to play a civ with a golden army... Great work, seZereth.
