Due to William's continued INTERNET technical difficulties I will get this started for him.

Welcome to the Third monthly Tech Icon makers challenge.

Please note the new rules amendments 4a and 4b

So here are the rules:

1. Everyone may enter a tech icon, as long as:
The submitter is the creator of the Tech Icon
The Tech Icon is the first working version and is therefore new, not posted before either on this website, nor on any other.
The new Tech Icon must be available for download for the civ community.
Cut ‘n pasters can also join.
Upon submission a GIF preview of the tech Icon needs to be provided!
2. There is no theme in this competition. Any tech icon can participate!

3. The tech icon maker can choose any tech icon he wants. For inspiration and ideas the first page of the call thread of that month may contain some request by other members.

4. A link to the tech icon together with a preview needs to be posted in this thread JUNE 30 2006. After that a jury thread will be launched in which the winner will be decided by a 1 week poll.
4a. The Tech Icon file must be posted in the graphics modpack sub-forum in either a new thread or in your library.Do not post the files directly in the competition thread, use a link to your thread. If you plan on doing a lot of graphics I would strongly suggest starting your own library thread. The main reason for this is that if you only post the files in the competition thread people wont be able to find them easily later on.
4b. The preview must be posted as an image not an attachment. This makes it easy for me to add it to the preview thread and jury thread with out having to download the file re-save it as a gif and upload it to image shack myself to make a proper preview.

5. This is supposed to be a friendly competition between gentlemen (m/f ). Please stay friendly to each other at all times...

Let the requesting begin...

Yea, but Flamand with his dictator tendencies, wants to monopolise the submission threads, thus ending the democratic chaos. :mischief:
Who knows what he might do next ... he may be plotting to overthrow a mod and take his/her place. :mischief: :mischief:

Man, you got some good ideas... As I said in my combined thread I felt I was cluttering the forum with my competitions, so I put it all together. But only my own competitions...

Yes. Exactly. Flamand has nothing to do with the Tech Icon Challenge. So, when I get a submission ready, I'll submit it here.

I'm in this one. :D

BTW does William seriously have internet trouble?

EDIT: I'll submit mine now. Find it here. It is the ARMOR tech icon. Vote for me!

Good luck guys. :)

I don't think that putting tech icons in with Flamand's PCX challenge would work. Tech Icons are probably the easiest pcx files to do and therefore probably wouldn't get votes and most people would stop making them. There is a definite need for good quality Tech Icons and I would hate to see production drop off now that it has momentum.

@conquer dude - Your submission has been entered and the preview is posted in the first post(I forgot to reserve a second post for previews).Thank you for following the proper submission procedure.

As for William, thats what he had posted as the reason for his temporary absence and I don't have any information to anything other than that.I think he said he should have it corrected sometime this month.

I thought he just left like many people do.

EDIT: (Edited on June 14th) Today is William's birthday.

:bump: OK. Here's my entry for this month. One for the fantasy guy's out there.

"Conjuring" or "Summoning"

And the files

Just wait, I'll bet more better ones are coming.

Otherwise, flip a coin.

OK Luddi, yours is entered and posted to the preview in the first post.
 Go Vikings!

Darnit. I think my chance might be lost. :p

With only 3 Icons so far I wouldn't worry about it. I think it will be a close race at this point, But you need to fix your Icon's color count and palette before the vote ;) .....

Here's my tech icon.

"An Alien Attacks a Major City"

or

"Alien Warfare"
