There are now 2 versions! The old, 150x75 map (which has been updated for the first and (probably) last time), and a new somewhat smaller 120x60 map.

Yay!

Both versions of this scenario require the Fall from Heaven 2 modpack, version 0.13.
Get the modpack here.

The following civs/leaders are in both versions:
Luchuirp - Beeri Bawl
Khazad - Kandros Fir
Malakim - Varn Gosam
Elohim - Ethne the White
Bannor - Capria
Amurites - Valledia the Even
Sheaim - Tebryn
Balseraphs - Perpentach
Lanun - Hannah the Irin
Calabim - Alexis
Svartalfar - Faeryl (currently not playable)
Hippus - Tasunke
Ljosalfar - Thessa
Ljosalfar - Arendel
Kuriotates - Cardith
Doviello - Charadon
Clan of Embers - Jonas Endain
Grigori - Cassiel

Tips (for both maps):
Resources are localized, and some are scarce.
Mind the waters, as there are two wild kraken roaming the seas.
Mind the barbarians, they start with as many cities as there are civilizations.
These maps wraps in both the x and y directions.

150x75

UPDATED! I went through and tweaked starting areas for several (though I didn't quite make it through all of them yet) of the civilizations. A few of the civs had been changed at the last moment, so some starting resources didn't quite make sense... that should be better in this version. For example, Hippus start with horses!

Get the big version here!

I didn't finish updating though, because the more I played and worked with the map, the more I decided it was just a bit too big. So, introducing...

120x60 (Almost 50% less map!)

I'm enjoying this one much more... yes, there's a little less lag time between turns and all that, but mostly, it just feels better. Since the civs/leaders were chosen in advance, resources should be arranged a bit better than the larger map (hopefully). Naturally, there are things I'm finding I want changed, and probably always will be, but here's the first version.

Get the smaller version here.

I've used a modified version of Rhye's modified version of Trip's BMP to WBS Converter to create these maps. For the curious, I've (separately) attached my modified version of the converter (which will place FfH2 resources), and I've attached the source bitmaps and notes (map statistics, etc) for each of the maps in the name_Design.zips. Feel free to do whatever you please with these files.

Enjoy!

Hello,

Great and fun !

Nothing to say at that time. Had to try with an other civ than my favourite one.
Good job.
This week, my own map/scenarii will be ready too. I hope you look at it also.

The :D Frog.

Great job, I'll link it in the main FfH thread. :D

I gave this map a couple of rounds in the spare time my own modding activity gives me. Well done! I'm glad it's not just another Earthmap turned 90 Degrees. I would just suggest putting a couple of horses near to the Hippus'(that's what I played) startlocation instead of so much stone. That's what they live for after all- Riding and Raiding:D
As soon I get more time I'll continue this savedgame for sure. Keep on!:goodjob:

Thanks, folks. I'm glad someone else is enjoying it! :)

strategyonly: Both the original map and the smaller version are huge.

Hian the Frog: Curious, what's your favorite civ? I grabbed your scenario, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to play much lately.

Kael: Awesome. Thanks!

Ploeperpengel: I started going through the map and fixing starting areas for several of the civilizations, including adding horses to Hippus. I decided that I initially had too many non-playable civs included, so I changed them around to playable civs... including the Hippus. But that had left the newer civs with starting areas that were more designed for another civ.

After doing that for a while, I decided that the map was really just too dang big. I really like big maps, especially with FfH2, since the barbarians and exploration add to the fantasy feel, but it just felt too big, so I started (mostly) over, reducing the overall area by almost 50%. 120x60 feels much better to me. Any other opinions on this?

For these maps, there's not a lot of difference. If you open the .WBS with notepad (right click the file, click open with, select notepad from the list), change line 19 from
Code:
	ModPath=Fall from Heaven 2 013
to
Code:
	ModPath=Fall from Heaven 2 014
Then, after line 12, add a new line:
Code:
	Victory=VICTORY_TOWER_OF_MASTERY
That should be it!

I'm working on a new series of maps (using a map similar to the 120x60) starting at different points in the world's history... but when the first couple are ready, they'll go in a new thread.

Ok, I put the map in the public maps folder. I open the Civ IV with the mod, but then I get an error saying Civ can't read the map. Can anyone give me a hint as to how to work this? Thank you.

This doesnt work with the latest version of of the mod. It doesnt even appear in the scenario list even though its in the public maps folder. Any ideas?

Eddiit's problem is probably solved by my post 2 above his. As to Civ not being able to read the map... that one I'm not sure about.

If you liked this scenario, check out what's really the new-and-improved version of this in my other thread.

I don't plan on updating or working on this older version any more... sorry. However, anyone interesting in messing around with it, using it for their own scenarios, or whatever is welcome to do so.
