I guess this is like what they did to take down the US mobsters in the 20s... Tax their illegal income and then bust them when they don't pay.

I'm pretty much in favor of legal, regulated prostitution (must be 18, must have health checks, relegated to specific areas, etc....) as my view is that most legal relationships are very often a form of prostitution anyway. You think that any time a 20 year old marries some 50 year old movie star that that's really about "love"? Plenty of cultures have arranged marriages which are, in many ways, business transactions. In work situations, people sleep often use sex as a way to advance their careers, etc.... I remember a recent incident in which a US celebrity was accused of rape and he promptly bought his wife (who was not the victim) a 2 million dollar diamond. That wasn't a business transaction? Have you even took a job or looked the other way simply for $$?

Anyhoo....

Nobody thinks its wrong to pay someone for a professional massage that makes you feel good. Why should it be illegal to pay a prostitute for some professional sex, that makes you feel considerably better than the massage?:mischief:

I think it should be legal.

Definately legal. The government should not be able to regulate sexual activity between consenting adults. That's about as private as it gets, but the government still seeks to control it. Laws have failed to stop prostitution, and prostitutes are vulnerable to abuse and sometimes violence. More bad government control over society, imo. Doesn't need tax or regulation or anything, just decriminalize it.

Does this pro-stitute go through some kind of pre-employment training? I've had some less then stellar sexual expiriences and a little know how on her part would have made a big diffrence. This would open up a whole new field of prostitute trainer and training john. Thier could be collage courses.......scratch that ,thats what collage is any way.

Cause you don't get The Clap from a backrub.
You could get all sorts of nasty bugs from a massuese that doesnt take proper sanitary measures. You could from a barber too, or a dentist.

The Denist and Barber I can understand ( but I went to BOTH of them yesterday?!),but what diseases can you get from a masseuse performing massages?

If the masseuse doesnt keep his or her towels, massage table, etc, santized, you can catch anything.

Athlets foot of some other skin related fungus infestation.

People are going to do it no matter what, at least if it's legal it can be regulated. And hey why not let uncle same get his cut?

What's the fetish with taxing everything after legalizing it?

Make prostitution illegal. They spread STDs as well as cause married couples to comit adultery.

Except, making illegal prostituion doesn't stop people from using it. It only makes the STD spread more rampant and the adultery harder to track.

So does sex.
It is a public endorsement of infidelity. Its' presence simply makes it more aceptable to cheat on your spouse.

Think about it like sitting someone with a sweet tooth down in a chocolate factory, and expecting them to sit there and eat salads all day. The salad is infinitely better for them, but the mere presence of the chocolate is like waving a steak in front of a dog's mouth... your're just daring him to do it. It is better for something like the institution of prostitution to not exist at all. Then we might begin to grow back into a more moral society.

Any self employed person has to pay taxes. If prostitution was legal, prostitutes would have to pay up too.
