*checked on title not checkd*

Just wondering I bought one of those hand held ones recently at (big 5 ;) west coast people).

I checked mine and it was 43% (275LBS) 156.75 lean weight
from what I've read in males under 6 -1 3% is called athletic
the lowest you can go is 4% (fat protects your organs) (body builders male swimmers) but even then it is considered unhealthy.

http://www.healthchecksystems.com/bodyfat.htm

I've checked 6 of my friends all look "normal" for where I am from and they were all in between 32 and 27% at 130 lean weight (or within 5 pounds of that) (zero body fat)
I am hoping to keep losin weight (was 360) and to get down to 170 (10%ish)

P.S. I don't recomend those measure body fat test the first few I found on google had me from 61% to 20%

Well, I checked my body fat recently with a whizzy gadget that sends a mild electric current through you and assesses body fat. I doubt the accuracy of such a method, but it seemed roughly reliable.

My body fat measurement was anywhere in between 18-20%. Not over weight or fat, just...enough.

By the way, don't ever listen to Body Mass Index. From what I hear, it is total bunkum for serious assessment.

I have the same thing and allthou it fluxuates (spl?) about 0.7% per test it was not even one % of the test in the dunk tank (truck in my case) (considered to be the best way)

OH and p.s. don't usethe handheld electric current if you have a pace maker ...you'll die I allways forget to say that.

You know im not liking the amount of weight threads we've got going now. Noncon's hair thread-seems the entire forum is turning a different shade of pink. First person to post a thread showing a picture of them putting on trousers with the title 'does my bum look big in this?' gets an internet slap.

You were 360?? And now you're aiming at 170? That's a huge (literally)change, congratulations. Just keep Sambando, you'll burn it off quick enough ;)

Like most guys mine is all on my stomach, I have no idea what the Body fat is, but it's no doubt a bit higher than average. I do need to lose weight, I decided recently, but it has to be a weekend deal because my work tires me out consistently, and after my studies have finished. So I'll be a stone or two(1.5 Stone or 22lbs) overweight till September. Then it's time to start up those hill walks I enjoy so much again. In context though I am 5'11 and large build so my BMI is not in the unhealthy part of the graph yet, but it is creeping up there.

16%.

I look pretty skinny, but I'm in pretty awful shape--I don't really exercise at all (except for standing 8 hours a day, or walking around grounds when I'm at school).

I've not checked mine but I recall it's damn high, working on it though :) who ever said that Cola was bad for you :(

1.78 m and 69 kg here.

The on-line tests give about 11-16% for me which seems somewhat OK (I do around 150 min sport a week - unless it´s too hot, too cold or I don´t have time;) . I have a balance which does a body-fat measurement based on conductivity which gives around 12%. I would not trust the absolute numbers, but you can follow a change if you stick to one method.
I would conduct these measurements at a diet institute or a doctor (I think it is included in the "Gesundenuntersuchung" - preventive check we can get for free here in Austria) if I would need the correct number.

Most of those "automatically check xxxx" gadgets are BS, particularly if you're larger or smaller than average. I particularly remember once in a biology lab we had to take our blood pressures (don't remember what the heck for though), and one of those little things kept telling me that my BP was something like 300/250, rediculous.

" That's impossible. How can someone have more that 100% body fat? Hey no eating in the tank." :mischief:

Do not give us any ammunition. :aargh: I have two worthy pictures that I have found on the net that will shock most people.

Mine's probably around 16-18% right now. I have a lot of fat on me for being only 165 lbs.
