Roman Principes

Well If I was going to make this available to Rome in a normal game, I would give it something complimentary to the other units (ie. Hastati and Triari)

Say something like this,

Hastati 2A 1D 1M
Principes 3A 2D 1M
Triari 2A 4D 1M

Maybe give the Hastat and Principes bombard 1STR 0RNG 3ROF, as they where usually equipped with 3 pilums.

What! This isn't a Roman Princess! I read the Title as Roman Princess! I Demand a Roman Princess!

I'm dyslexic. Whats your excuse?

Thanks due, keep 'em coming.
These are much appreciated...

@Goldflash; don't you mean Lxydecis?

Early republican legionaries were split into 3 types.
Hastati were the younger, less experienced guys who made up the first line. They had 3 pila, shortsword, helmet, scutum(oval shield) but could rarely afford armour beyond a bronze square that covered the chest ( they paid for their own equipment).
Principes had previous experience and were more likely to be able to afford armour like a chain shirt. Mostly they were armed like Hastati, but sometimes had a Longspear like the Triarii instead.
Triarii were veterans. They were armed with longspears and scutums, they were theb last line of defence. The saying "it came down to the Triarii" signified a close desparate battle.
They deployed in a checkerboard formation against phalanx, so when one line got tired/depleted it could be releaved safely so it could retreat, regroup and form a reserve.

Velites were those too poor to be legionaries and scirmished with Javelin and shield. (or sometimes bow or sling)

I WISH I could animated that good odintheking, though I am getting fairly good at making a convincing ball bounce. :p

Actually these are the original/mod animation that I am using. They are to long in sequence to be used for CivIII so I in essence have to reanimate them to be shorter. So I cannot really claim these to be my animations as that would be unfair to those that created them. WHEN I am better at animating some of these units will have animations created by me, as I will get sick of the standard ones that come with RTW.

If people dont want to slit up legions for their units you could use the Hastati as an early republican legionary (or legion1 in the conquest), the Principes as a Marian/Caesarian Legionary (Legion2) and Kinboats as the Early Imperial Legionary (Legion3).

Great conversion! This is a nice unit, that will replace another legionary from CFC in the Rise of Rome conquest. Like Tahlum said, "keep them coming!"

Nice! :goodjob:

Now we have a choice which attack animations to use! :D

Are conversions allowed?
Of course. (AoE conversions, ToT conversions, RA2 conversions, Cossacks conversions, SWGB conversions, etc.)

Are you converting these in an order you need for a mod or just at random?
If you have no preference do you fancy doing a poll of what faction to convert next?

Will somebody PLEASE show me a Roman Princess?
