That's a pretty good spread on the results--showing that lots of people have lots of different opinions and personal faves. It's probably all for the best that there isn't one overwhelming favorite. I still can't believe anyone voted for the Aztecs or the Yanks. When I first got the game I played the Americans, but mostly for jingoistic reasons.
Persia - 9
China - 8
Rome - 5
France - 5
Egypt - 4
Greece - 4
I tell you who the AI kicks butt with, however--the Iroquois. I prefer to let the game randomly select my opponents so that my games are as much of a surprise to me as possible. But whenever the Iroquois take the field, they pretty much dominate their continent. If I can't knock them out in the Ancient Times, I already know who my final rival for world domination is gonna be. Sadly, sometimes I'm not a rival to them once I get up to monarch games. Lately I've gone into the editor and emasculated the Iroquois, made them slower builders, just so's the rest of the civs have a fighting chance.
I've never played France, but that's b/c the French AI always wants to stab me in the back. She is truly ruthless, mean, unprincipled, and bears a freakish resemblence to my college girlfriend, which frankly doesn't help matters.

Forgot to add: I voted for the Persians. I like that scientific trait, altho I'm still adjusting to C3Conquests and the oomph that the Agricultural trait adds to your gameplay. In c3c there is one civ that's Agri-Sci, but that's Sumeria and for some reason Sumeria sucks wind. Sometimes I'll stop a successful game strategy just to kill them off b/c they're so useless.
I didn't vote for them, but my second fave is the Russians. Sci-Expansive is a nice combo, but what I really love is the Cossack. I don't see why people get worked up about the Chinese Rider. My Cossacks consistantly whack down Riders without breaking a sweat.
