You can get the Willem van Oranje and Johan de Witt animated LHs from CIV Gold, as well as unit buttons, Team colour flag, etc.

Thanks for the tip, Wyz_sub10! I think, however, that I'm going to be more ambitious with the leaderheads than just a recolor of an existing LH. I've got a little 3D modeling background, and now that new tools are available, hopefully I can do something grand!

Then maybe I'll be using yours in the future. :)

New version 1.1, with new artwork and Navigation I promotion for ports now available!

Aren't two UU's not too much, or is one actually put in for decorative purpouses?

Goed werk, btw. :goodjob:

The expansion does support two UUs per civ, both the Geuzen and Schooner work in game as decribed. I don't think it unbalances the game either, as one is a non-offensive sea unit.

As a sideline, does anyone know how to change the actual title of this thread? I wanted to update the version number, but even in advanced settings, it leaves the thread title the same. Ideas?

I believe a mod or admin must do that.

Ha, superb. I like the militia look of the pikeman. A very appropriate unique building. :goodjob:

Thank you, and thank you! The armor just didn't suit the time or methods of the watergeuzen! :)

I think its higly unbalanced!

Having first a unit that on compass can travel the ocean and carry units, gives an advantage to surprise in early game and make sea-attacks

Second, a unique building that is similar to viking, but better... highly unbalanced

Remove the scooner, since it really destroys gameplay.
And make the UB a little bit weaker.

Hi Theron,

Good, very good idea to add the Dutch Civ. I liked playing them in Civ 3.
Just 2 questions:
- Can you give us a description of their two leaders ? What are they ? Imperiaslist, charismatic,...?
- Don't you fell the UB is too strong ? It's a mix of Viking and Carthaginian harbour. My own idea was easier: adding a free merchant, the possibility to add 2 more merchants and +25% gold income from trade only, no more no less.

The Frog.

Now where is the Belgian civilization? :P.
Nice mod, i've played with them quite often allrdy :).

To address what some have pointed out regarding balance issues, I've adjusted a few things to bring them a bit more in line. Specifically, the Dutch Shipping Port trade route modifier has been reduced to 25%, and the Dutch Schooner now requires the Optics technology.

Great mod, but I guess the Netherlands are a bit overpowered.

Overpowered ?
That might be, but don't forget that this tiny nation had a 100 year lasting golden age around 1700. They were even able to more than match the english fleet, mostly overpowering them in batle.

They could produce more ships than any other nation.
Reason: A mechanical sawmachine which made it possible to precisely saw trees 15 times faster than before. So in stead of three months, it took them only 2,5 days.

That was, although unknown, the biggest reason for their succes !!!!
