Is there a straightforward way (even if multi-step) to add a new map to a pre-existing mod? As a specific example, is there a way to use Keroro's Eratosthenes/Strabo World Map with TAM? I'd be interested in doing the work of placing the civ's & resources on this map/mod combo if there wasn't too much work beyond that.

Yeah, the only problem will be the resources. There's a clean version of my map that you could use, but then you'll have to add all the resources yourself. If you don't get anywhere I might have the time to do it myself soon.

I'll probably start with a clean map. TAM has a number of resources that are custom to the mod.

Here it is quick and dirty, just a proof of concept. It's called View attachment TAWAM.BIQ.zip, for "The Ancient World on an Ancient Map" mod. I've played it very briefly on both a Mac and a PC just to make sure little TAM guys could really run around Keroro's map, now decorated up with TAM terrain & resources.

Importing the rules links it automatically to the original biq's related files, so just place this biq in the same location as your TAM biqs. Resources & Goodies were randomly distributed in the editor. All 31 TAM Civs are playable; starting locations are assigned randomly.

All I did was slam Thamis, et al's work together with Keroro's map; therefore feel free to pursue my simple experiment further (but it would be polite to acknowledge their BS&T).

Given time, the next things I'd try would be (1) to set reasonable starting locations and (2) distribute the resources for more balanced & interesting playability. Note that (1) would leave Asia and (southern Africa) very empty. Long term, it would be interesting to add Asokan India, Harrapans, Mongols, etc. in place of some of the TAM civs.

Any progress? If you haven't had time to look at this any further then let me know, and I'll have a go with distributing the resources and starting locations.
