Forest Owl Resistor (Rinoa Heartily) from FF 8

The last UU for Garden is now done: the Forest Owl. Basically these replace the Dragoon for Garden and have stealth attack capabilities. I based the unit (and animations) on Rinoa Heartily, the leader of the Forest Owls in Final Fantasy 8.

Actually it would be Firaxis who makes Civ, and I can't work for them since I don't know how to use 3D Studio Max, which is what all their 3D graphics guys use.....

And there are better unit makers on these here forums, but thanks for the compliment.

BTW, I love your sig... That's one of my favoirite German Industrial Rock groups.

the point of the game is to get through a labyrinth and not get swallowed up by the lava. (you have to build a city at the end to win by domination)
 
Infogames.. they don't exist anmymore, right? I think they got swallowed by Atari. Atari then sold the franchise to Take 2 Interactive... Civ 3 has had like, three different publishers between Vanilla and complete! I hadn't even thought of that...

Oh, unit. Grood! I mean Good. And Great. Great and Good.

Great job Hikaro!! :goodjob: I love her! :love: I especially like the texture of her hairs and the attack; very well done!

I was also thinking with that weapon attached to her arm, it would be great to give her a melee attack, like the Red Shield unit from CamJH. Just an idea...
 
Thanks for all the compliments guys!

BeBoy: Rinoa's Wrist blade launcher was never meant to be used for a Melee weapon, and in all of Final Fantasy 8 it was only ever used as a Ranged weapon, which was nice since Rinoa had the same amount of attack power in the back row as in the front, while she took less damage when attacked by melee enemies.
 
Now get back to work on some cat girls!
 
Goldflash: I'll do the Mithra Worker after I finish re-doing the Sniper (my current project) or maybe after the next unit I do... Who knows. I at least have pretty much all the necesary props for the animations (Rake, Shovel, pickaxe, and some small potted trees for the plant forest animation).

Hooray: Yeah, I didn't have any other props that would have worked for something like that, so I just used the giant shuriken prop Kinboat made for me and shrank it a bit and stuck it on Rinoa's wrist launcher thingy.
