Ok, she's not in the game, but picked the female leader that best looks like her (sorta) and that's Hatty from Egypt.
Map: Fractal
Map Settings: Arid Large (i.e. "looks like Planet")
Game Settings: Epic Monarch
Options: Aggressive AI

Variant rules:
1. No tree chopping allowed. Must not build any improvements that destroy forests/jungle if there is a resource on it (for example, camp on forest w/ deer is allowed)
2. Any worker found chopping a tree must be stopped immediately. If a worker unit successfully fells a forest, it must be executed (deleted).
3. Must not found a city on a forest or jungle tile. (since the forest/jungle is destroyed)
4. Just win! (*hint* UN is a good idea.)

If there is enough interest in this game we'll start. I'm looking for 4-5 players and optional alternate.

well, I'm having a lot of fun in RK-01, so i'd love to join. (i'm an old SMAC fan too)
Fantasy Realm could be fun, with Crazy resource location ! but in the end I don't really care.
Maybe play it in Vanilla to attract more people?

I'll go with Arid Fractal. Arid becuase it's easier on the variant (less trees).

RK1 is winding down anyway. After we destroy Zulu there, it's almost the domination limit.
Hopefully in this game I won't make as many moves.

OK Ok Despite it being just a game I must confess I do have the hots for wee Hattie and now you come aliong with a Civ Leader who is even cuter. So if you need a player count me in.... Experienced in SG's and very comfortable at monarch level

Story, uh, let's see... the UN peacekeeper guy won a spaceship victory back in 2000AD. Now that the crew have all reached their destination, they all broke into factions and fought amongst each other, causing the SS Unity to be destroyed. Leaders and their followers fled on escape pods, but sadly, there was no technology that could be salvaged. Everyone was cut down to the stone age.

So what does everyone do now? Beat up all the other factions? Rebuild a space ship to escape this horrible planet? Impress everyone with fancy decorations in their cities? Or the wise man's choice... Rebuild the UN?

So Deirdre Skye makes Planetfall!



The warrior used up his first turn to scout. Resources bonuses are displayed just to see how much we're getting... and missing. I'm sad that we won't be improving those Silk due to our leader's tree-hugging tendencies.

EDIT: I know Blue Marble can be confusing but that's all grassland. And why are there so many treeeessssss? I though this was Arid? Maybe I should've picked Rocky...

Wow! A SMAC-inspired SG! How could I not register an interest? I trust the Lady Deirdre Hatty will be "dancing naked through the forest"...?

Hi Scowler, you will be the fifth then! I must now trot off to sleep while everyone ponders the start location (sorry have no time to play turns), and imagine Hatty dancing in Silk-rich woods that will never be turned into plantations.

Suggested variant rule: we have to adopt Environmentalism as soon as it is available and stay in it for the rest of the game.
EDIT: How about: if /when we get control of the UN we have to propose this as a resolution ASAP.

Ok then, Environmentalism will be great for our forest-filled cities and it will kill their deforested economies. It won't likely win as a UN Vote unless we're already ruling the world... which we should be doing anyway... we will force everyone to save the trees!

Deirdre/Hatty has the Spiritual trait, but it is appalling that she didn't know Mysticism yet. I decide to gamble anyway to go for Hinduism. In a normal Monarch game I would've gone for Bronze Working, but... the trees! Remember what happened to Earth?

Initial warrior heads up north to scout.



Oh, great, it's Chairman Sheng Ji-Yang of the "Human Hive" faction. Naturally, he's annoyed at us because it's partly our fault the spaceship blew up.



Our scouts have surveryed his initial position. Mao possesses abundant resource deposits of "incense" and "marble" in his current territory. I like his position, so I hope he doesn't settle here first (see dotmap on next post)



Mysticism is in, and the religious gamble continues with Polytheism. Hopefully Gaia won't mind our worship of multiple imaginary deities.



We reclaim a Unity supply pod (worth 41... "energy credits") in the name of the UN from some "villagers" who have broken away from our faction.



Someone has re-developed the art of meditation and called their religion "Buddhism". We will have none of it.



Tokugawa is annoyed with us. How can we blame him.



Soon our recon found themselves surrounded by packs of native wildlife.



But the native wildlife is no match for highly-trained former astronauts in caveman suits.
