Should we start a NES Wiki? I think it would be really worth it because of the ability to list so much stuff. We could have articles on users, story indexes of all the stories by that user. You could have NES wiki's with litte stubs on the nations in it, or for really involoved NESes like LINESII big encyclopdic articles on countries.

I think this would add a buttload of fun and flavor too the game.

Well, who has all that free time to do it? :p

There is currently a subsection in the Civfanatics page on Wikipedia. Before making a full blown wiki, we should at least draft a NESing article.

Let's make this the thread to develop that.

To start, what is an appropriate 1-2 sentence definition for NESing?

THe article on Wikipedia though is for others, our own Wiki would be for us.

Because we're better than everyone else. and we know it!

BTW, who made the Wikipedia one............because i love them. I'm mention like 3 times and i'm not that important.

North King. He said so somewhere.

The current version is primarily my revision, though it appears someone else went through it.

Heh, we should add and revise on the various eccentricities of the players :p

Oh yes, lets set a precedent by prattling on incessantly about some tiny microcosm of the Internet! The page surely won't be deleted within about five minutes! :p Even expanding upon what is already there, which dominates the CFC article, would likely necessitate a new article and it'd probably just get tagged with "It has been suggested this article be merged with Civilization Fanatics".

Only way it would work is if, as Swiss suggested, it was done as a seperate WikiPage, which would be rather narcissistic. In addition, there are only a few limited individuals who could be trusted to do such a thing, and I doubt anybody's just chomping at the bit to sort through 246,500+ posts to pull out stories and statistics.

Grim negativism aside, let's start with formulating a definition for NESing.

I am stating a simple fact. How many Wikipedia articles are there on random Internet communities? The answer is: none. Why? Because it's outside the scope of their content, and frankly nobody cares. The concept of NESing, certainly, could fit. Suggesting we ramble on about ourselves is just asking to have the whole section deleted.

Also, as you may or may not have noticed, a definition is already there, in the section constructed by NK. Having a great pow-wow to decide a new one seems... frivolous.

Look, we honestly aren't big enough to deserve our own article. We are a mere offshoot of CFC, and not at all important in the greater scheme of the net.

It would be a cool way to link NES/nation backgrounds and stuff and make it easily accessible, rather than trawling through treads.

I would favour a wiki thingy as a support for ongoing games, and a place to put history and stories from great games of the past :)

We can make our own independent wiki format site.
