What time frame and setting? I think basing the fundamentals on sliding descriptions is a really good idea, but if we're going to give good suggestions on which ones to use we need some idea of the place, era, and general "play style climate" you intend to create.
When is the first IT interval going to be, timeline wise? If there are likly to still be tribes and migrations it might be a good idea to include a "Settled-Migratory" slider.
(incase your wondering how a nation could be both migratory and urban - perhaps a people forced out of their homelands, setting up little urban communities wherever they end up? )
First thing I thought when I saw the title was "That's interesting, a NES on the Ancient Near East." *sigh* I really need to take a break from school. Anyway, just some random sliders that may or may not be useful:
1……………………4
aesthetical utilitarian (such as Greece compared to Rome)
1……………………4
centralized decentralized (such as Alexander's Macedon compared to Persia's satraps)
1……………………4
individual collective (such as Athens compared to Sparta)
I would agree with adding Strategos' sliders to your list. Also, is this a fresh start (and in that case, random or world?) or an althist or have you decided? As has been stated that might help frame some of our comments.
