is civilization 5 coming out. i've been seing alot of threads for putting things in civilization 5 so when. also im not being impatient just want to know
 
It seems like you're impatient, especially since [civ3] came out in 2001! If Firaxis came out with civ games fast enough for you to be even thinking about this, there would be 2 Civilization 12 expansion packs out there at least, if not a Civilization 13. I would say 2012 at the earliest.

Civilization II (MicroProse, 1996)
Civilization III (Firaxis, 2001) + Play the World (2002) + Conquests (2003)
Civilization IV (Firaxis, 2005) + Warlords (2006)

Using this pattern, expect Civ 5 around 2010.
 
I'll say that previous model was in good scale, but the designer forgot to take into account rising corprate greed. Expect profits from Civ5 to ring in no later then 2008, judging on most previues accord, near Christmas sounds about right
 
and then,..bring up the rapid increases in Tech that will push worker efficency limts higher to strengthen your predictions with.
 
2009 is a good bet. 2008 is too soon. With the second expansion for Civ4 coming out mid-year 2007, a 2008 release for Civ5 would only be expecting too much of the designers. Plus, they will still get sales from the second expansion in 2008 and lets not forget the inevitible patch that will follow. Civ5 -> 2009.
 
why are you complaining civ4 is a brillent game yes i agree civ5 or the next expansion pack will be even better,complaining will not speed up the creations. for people who want something new download mods.or create mods
 
I really do not think this is something that will come in the near future. I certainly don't want CivV only two years after the release of CivIV.

There is still much to be accomplished on the Civ4 field, in terms of additions through expansion packs, certainly the return of the Cradle of Civilization (Babylon).

Besides, our talented modders on the forums still have alot to show and create. The last thing I want now is CivV.
 
I hope that Firaxis would release a civ5 at least 5-6 years after.I would really like a sequel for SMAC or colonization.Having just another civilization game in a few years would ruin the interest in the series.
 
Christmas 2008 is a tough target to reach, I think Christmas 2009 is more reasonable.
 
I would say by 2010. With all of the new graphics cards coming out along with better, faster computers it would make the programming of it harder. Also, it is unresonable to launch 1-2 years right after an expansion pack.

But to get back on topic : I'd say around march 2008
It might be sooner just as well, it also depends on the expansion packs life duration, and how many firaxis will bring out. Usualy it'ld be 2 expansion per civ version.
