Here is the New York World Trade Center (WTC 1,2,3,4,5,6) area.

Of course I also included the wondermovie and a button.

I hope for any feedback.

Gebete sind bei einem so schönen Model gar nicht notwendig ;)

great towers!!! But be cautious with barbarian aircraft

or as one of hipothysis says - watch out for cia's explosives ;)

I suggest ending this line of thoughts/jokes here... there are those of us here (myself included) who lost people or knew people who lost people on 9/11.

I just don't want a fight... not here. It's a beautiful model. Let's leave it at that.

Political correctness aside, this model will make 9/11 and War-On-Terror mods possible. Thanx for the graphics. :goodjob: :)

@Jeckel: In Fact it wasn´t my intention to make a model for 9/11 or War-on-Terror mods... I only saw a big symbol for the western capitalism and a big milestone in architecture, and I remembered my childhood-dreams of staying on the top of the towers... For me the wtc is not a symbol for terror or war, its just the dream of materialism. I don´t think that 9/11 will be a good theme for a game, because it is a real tragedy of many stolen lives.
Of Course a war like ww1 or ww2 is a tragedy to, but I think nobody plays it because of having fun with killing innocent people but for having fun at strategy.
If WTC would have been a symbol for 9/11 for me, I only would have build the towers and not the (nearly) whole area.
Please don´t forget the victims. Not every event in history is a good theme for a game/mod. The pseudo-"war against terror" also isn´t.

War never will be the solution for statemen-problems, Mr. G.W.B.!

Very well put. I agree, especially that the "War On Terror" shouldn't be modded, because like you said. There is no stratagy. It is just a pointless bloodbath. But these are my views, and we all have different ones. So respect mine, just like i'd respect yours.

Thanks,

I'll be adding the WTC to my mod as well... in the context in which charly1977 described it... it was a marvel of engineering, a world wonder in its own right, and like all but one of the ancient world wonders, was destroyed... before its time... had 9/11 not happened, I'd think it a good addition anyway.

As for "political correctness", this term has become a catch-all phrase that has really started to be used wildly out of context. I don't think it's political correctness as much as it is basic decency and respect... respect for those of us who were close to the events and respect for charly1977 who started a thread to post a model of a World Wonder... All I'm saying is I don't want this thread to turn into 27 pages of someone taking offense and the offenders firing back, etc. etc. I'm just asking that it be left out.. there's a time and a place for just about everything, and a discussion on 9/11 (since it has a lot of controversial stuff that comes along with it) is not appropriate here IMO.

They say there are three things you don't talk about with friends: politics, religion, and money... I try to adhere to that policy when it comes to people in the community as well.. why? Because I want to be able to work with anybody and everybody here, and getting into a fight over something like this might prevent that.

Well, I must agree fully with DPII, there is no need for debate on this topic and I did not intend to start any, nor did my single sentense and mention of 9/11 and war on terror make or imply any of the things those responses seem to think it did. Infact I'm surprised, there not needing to be any debate, that my 3 words and 3 intagers needed any multiparaghraph responces.. :p

@DPII
Firstly, I ment no disrespect to anyone. Not those killed in the attack, those close to it, or charly1977. Secondly, Political Correctness is labeling a topic, statement, or word out of bounds because it might hurt the feelings of a portion of the group. Saying that something shouldn't be argued about or debated is fine and understandable, but labeling the event unmentionable or the mod unmakeable because some people might be emotionally bothered by it is PCness going to far. I am with you, there needs be no debate on any of the politics and such, but I don't think it is exceptable to ban the mention of an historical event. That is not what Civ moding, or forums in general, is about.

@charly1977
I made no referense to what the WTC would symbolize, nor what context it would be used. I feel for all those who's lives are cut short, whether it was 9/11, a car wreck, or food poisoning. I personally am more offended by the rampant materialism you keep mentioning, then I am by any mod regardless of the content. Please don't assume any of my political beliefs or moral leaning based on a hand full of words from a single sentense. As for what you intended for the model, you should add that to the opening post as more description is good.
I thank you for your great work and and I'm sorry if my post was taken the wrong way and caused any confusion.

In closing let me say this. This is most definetly a very emotional issue. I posted a single sentence and mentioned two historical events related to the building the model represents. I do not wish to argue, but I also do not want context applyed to my statement that was not there.

Bottom line, if someone trys to argue or debate anything then we put a stop to it, but no need to jump on people for mentioning the event. Repression and avoidance are not healthy and can't be tolerated on this topic any more then they can on the holocaust, inquisition, or any other horendous act.

No offense ment to anyone and I think the whole thing can be dropped. :)

Jeckel, I wasn't saying that you were the one who might have been disrespectful. I was referring to comments made prior to that or to things that might be said in the future... and I'm going to stop there because otherwise I'll be that threadjacker I was trying to prevent from appearing :p
