Nice farm an? lol..Nilo!

There's a specialist city...once you are able to have specialists, that is. Or, you could cottage all those floodplain squares, run bureaucracy, and still have room for specialists.

However, that isn't quite the start that I like to play. Just because of the massive health problems...I tend to like having at most 4-5 floodplains, and more health resources.

My favorite start happened when I was playing as Carthage, and I got, no kidding, fish, two clams, sheep, and copper in my starting city radius. One of the first mines I built also popped gold, methinks, around 1000 BC. It was such a great city...

Optimism: you're Peter. Pessimism: you're Catherine.

If you're Peter go with specialists - he's one of my favourites for running scientists specialists. Expansive should offset some of the health problems.

If you're Catherine (which is more likely judging by the city already being unhealthy) cottage everything. If you ever get over the health problems you would still be able to run 9 specialists.

Bit misleading since you're in the middle of a golden age in that picture.

Make use of the financial trait. Farm until you overcome the health problems. Cottage everything else. Once you've connected some health resources cottage over all the farms. Even without any farms in this city it'll still generate a good few specialists.

Catherine's financial trait would imply cottages, while Peter's philosophical trait would imply specialists. I would maximize your trait benefits, and go with cottages.

ya, in that picture I did EVERYTHING I could to try to pump up my gold. Thanks for the comments, and... someone stole a nice jungle city with 2 gems, 4 dyes, and a silk in the BFC, all the rest was grass and grass hills. Feel free to play this one out!
