Hi everyone. For some reason I have been double-posting all day long (from this IP address/computer, works fine in the office a while ago). Everytime I click Post Reply I get the "Sorry problem with database" white screen and when I view the thread I'm replying to:
1. my post is there, twice!
2. my post count did not go up
3. the thread did not get bumped, not did the "reply count" go up

I have tried posting a new thread (started a new SG) and people are able to see it (and it's not double posted). I wonder if my posts are invisible?

Can anyone help? I think I PM-ed Chieftess but she's not online.

P.S. Oh yeah BTW, my mouse isn't broken and it doesn't double-click items on the desktop.

The database problems used to happen a lot in the past, but the problem was solved IIRC.

I've never heard of anything like this before (auto double posting, postcount problems, reply count)

Could be a problem with your browser, or mouse.

Have you tried using another browser to see if you still have the problem?

I'm having this same problem. You hit post reply and you get the error message about a database error. It tells you to try again and if you do, you get a double post.

Ooh, thanks for the clarification. My buddies Cosmichail and Ralph_Jackson can't post on my SG either.

Interesting, I didn't get any, but seems a lot of people have this problem... I remember how annoying it was when this happened regularly...

I use FF 2.0 FF 1.507 IE 6 IE 7 Opera. Whatever I use the problem remains. Oh yeah, this is me posting from the office and it still doubles up. I think the problem is limited to "selected users".

EDIT: Could be a DNS error?

It seems I can't send a private message. I can post, but I can't PM. :( Maybe I'll try the other computer...

Everything seems to be working for me except the PMs. I tried sending myself a message but got the database error.

Heh i thought when it said N/A by post count and when i couldnt click on the user name that the person was banned.

BTW how do we know if an account is banned or not?

It seems to be an issue with one of the tables (user table) which is probably why users can't be pm'd and such. The solution is probably as simple as backing up the original table.
