DA 01: Abortion: Yay or Nay?

This is thread 01 in the Devil's Advocate line of threads.

In these threads, all posters have to take exactly the opposite stance to the ones they usually take. Thus, for example, I will defend Shariah law and defend the "rights" of Muslims to take four wives if they want. And I'll do it sincerely, not satirically.

Note that things used here cannot be used against you in normal forum debates except in other DA debates.

This topic is dedicated to whether or not abortion is justified.

I'm myself undecided on this, so I can't really contribute, but I request the regulars in these debates to take up their opponents' positions.

The world was formed by the survival of the strongest and the destruction of the weakest. No human has a right to anything, including life. The fate of the weaker lies in the hands of the stronger, and if some die in the womb to help them maintain their position as the strongest, then they are a casualty to nature.

Note again: You don't have to provide deliberately weak arguments and satirise your opposition (even though that helps others to understand how we view our opponents, it provides a glimpse into how we think the other side thinks), you have to debate as if you genuinely believe the other viewpoint. But as this series is not supposed to be overly serious (which DOES NOT MEAN that you can take it lightly), let's see how the others respond to this :lol:

Abortion is bad. Woman are to be held back and any medical needs will only be aproved by the church. I don't care if the doctor is prfessional and the woman thinks she can do what she wants with her body. Human life starts when I say it does and my views shall be forced on every one else because other people aren't allowed to for any oppinions unless it conforms with mine. I don't know where these woman and thier supporters think that woman can have a say in how they treat thier reproductive systems. And I'll be danmed if some woman thinks she will be able to live her life in any way other then how I tell her.

(my normal position is "don't like abortion, don't have one")

And when one of us participates in this thread, we leave our normal selves behind. Nobody here is bothered with your real stance. You must not even refer to it. While you are in this thread, you BECOME your opponent. I'll add this to the list of rules.

Note that you must engage other people in debate, and not simply state your counter-position and leave it at that. You must actively defend your anti-position.

Because others don't know whats good for them, and for the whole society, the government has to take things in their own hands and make rules.

The government has no bussiness telling someone what they can and cannot do with a part of their body, immoral as they may think it.

I doesn't mater what science says. Life begins at conception and I will use bible passage to prove it. You can't rely un scientific prosess to judge when souls and gods creation starts.

Life begins at conception. A human life is an invaluable thing. You cant just destroy it willy nilly. Abortion is evil, its just plain murder. We're taking these living human beings and takign them out of their mother's body and throwing them in the trash! Abortion kills million every year and no ones stopping this, its worse than the holocaust!
