Daftpanzer
canonically ambiguous
Well, ive been struggling to decide what to do for a low-budget quick fun easy thing. I still cant decide, so I thought I’d just randomly start something else and hope for the best…
The ‘plot’:
After the first ZPNES wars, this dimension suffered a critical loss of phase-quantum trans-inter-reality stability. Using their quantum restabilisers, the Space Hamsters were able to prevent total disaster, although many planets were eaten by giant cosmic Pac-Men.
Space faring civilisations are now beginning to reappear again in this dimension...
Stats:
No stats, everything is on the ‘map’ for simplicity.
’Map’:
Distance is irrelevant, because ships have super jump drives. Planets will be grouped by ownership, with unclaimed ones in the middle.
The idea:
An experimental board NES based on simple space colonisation.
The idea is to gain more planets and more materials and fight and win. Or just to post random orders and stuff
‘Materials’ is like your IC/eco points/industry/money.
New players will start with 15 Materials and your choice of planet.
Choose a red planet for Ore bonus, or green planet for Food+Happiness bonus.
All planets produce one Material per turn, and start with 5 people (with a max population of 10).
Then spend your 15 Materials on something. Each planet can have a max of three buildings to start with. But you can always have unlimited spaceships.
Thing to buy: (all of these cost 5 Materials each)
Tech Lab – scientists think up new gizmos that may give you some random advantage each turn.
Mine – digs up at least one Ore a turn (two from red planets). Ores can be converted into extra Materials with a Factory.
Factory – makes some Materials automatically, and converts up to two Ores into two more Materials.
Bio– makes nice food, so population rises faster.
Habitat – houses 10 more people on the planet, and semi-protects people from enemy attacks
Luxury – entertainment and stuff to make people happier.
Scanner – helps your ships on explore missions. And gives early warning of enemy ships, to assist in planet defence.
Defences – one of these is an even match for two enemy warships.
Warship – can trade and explore for new planets, but not very well. Its better at defending your planets or going to attack+bomb others.
Explorer ship – Used up when colonising another planet. Its also best ship for exploring for new planets, and trading. It can fight too, but only about 1/2 as well.
Stuff:
Materials – as I said, its like your IC/eco points/industry/money that you use to buy stuff
Ore – gathered from mines, converted by factory into more Materials. Or else, it will be sold to traders for some random bonus.
Food – makes population rise faster. More food the better.
Luxury – makes people happier. More the better.
People:
Every 5 people at a planet create another free Material each turn.
Planets can support another building (beyond the initial 3) for every 10 people. People will also fight as resistors if their planet is invaded, though they are a poor match for troops (about 1/5 as strong).
People can be sent between planets for no cost. But the people will be unhappy about this, unless they are going to a nice planet.
People can be made into troops for 1 material each. Troops can be sent to any planet your ships are attacking. They will invade and try to take over that planet.
Or, troops can be sent between your own planets for no cost, in order to guard them and suppress riots etc.
Happy people fight harder for their planets as resistors. Unhappy people wont really resist much, and they may randomly riot and smash buildings on the planet too.
Ship Missions:
Explore, trade (with specific empire), attack (specific enemy planet), or defence.
Ok, so if you want to colonise more planets, you need to find them first. If an explorer ship spends a turn exploring in deep space, it will probably find a new planet. Once a new planet is discovered, you have one turn to colonise it yourself (by using up one explorer ship). There is a small element of risk in colonisation. It might not work first time, or the ship might be destroyed too.
After one turn, the planet will become well known, and available for anyone to colonise.
Explorer ships can also go and trade with another non-hostile empire. This might give some random amount of Materials.
Warships can do all this too, but there not very good at it. Warships are better at attacking or defending.
Any ships can go and attack enemy planets. The enemy can counter with any ships he has on defence duty. Warships can take on two explorer ships in an even fight. Planet defences can take on two warships or four explorer ships in an even fight.
Warships can also attempt to bomb enemy planets, each warship has a good chance to destroy a building or kill some enemy people.
If you send invading troops but don’t quite win the space battle and/or destroy their planet defences, then some troops will get killed in space.
Types of Planets:
Red planets – bonus Ore+Materials
Green planets – bonus food+happiness
Grey planets – no bonuses.
Orders:
Well, just build orders and ship orders in the thread I guess. I will accept PM’s if anyone wants privacy.
Anything else you want to do or anything you want to trade/swap with other players would probably be OK.
Updates:
If this actually works, and gets any players, it might be every day or couple of days, since it would just be copying and pasting few icons on the map.
Well, that’s it. If this makes any sense and anyone is interested, please feel free to join. If anyone isn’t interested, please feel free to make some random comments anyway.
Turn Order:
Implement build orders (can use stuff straight away)
Get material income (cant spend what you are going to get, only what you have now)
Population growth / discover new planets, general update of miscellaneous stuff.
Combat
