Here are the files.

here's a little resource that i'm not sure many people will ever use,
but i thought i would contribute it nonetheless.

it's for my Warrior Pharaoh mod (gonna have it for the Hippotomaus Hunt),
and maybe someone else could make so use of it too. :)

here's my pedia entry (also included in the download).

enjoy! ;)

^[Hippopotami] are a bonus resource that enhances city production. To get the bonus, the resource must be inside the city's radius and a citizen laborer must work the square.
^
^They can be found in the $LINK<marshy=TERR_Marsh>shores along the Nile.
^
^
^Hippos average 11 ft long, 5 ft tall at the shoulder, and weigh from 3,300 to 7,000 pounds.
Even though they are bulky animals, hippopotamuses can run faster than a human on land.
^
^Around 1560 BC, the Hyksos king Apepi I wrote to the Theban ruler Taa II asking him to abolish
the hippopotamous hunt practiced by the Thebans, as the animal was the earthly incarnation of the
god Seth, which was the Hyksos major deity.
^
^The Thebans refused, and war broke out. The details of the battle are unknown,
but Taa's remains show evidence of a violent death at the hands of Hyksos battle axes.

An essential for any Egypt scenario, nice. I once got two entire companies of vet soldiers mauled by a single hippo in Pharaoh - I've hated them ever since.

Criticism - the one coming out of water looks a bit cut off at the bottom, maybe you could soften that edge? A few splashes around the bottom? Still looks pretty good though.

EDIT - A much smaller issue - most animal icons for civ 3 stand parallell to the tile edge, at 45 degrees to yours. That's a minor issue though.

Very nice, Utro! I like that you included two versions. Thanks!

yes...i think the same, i need to do something about version 2....i'll work on it some more.

i could look into getting a better angle for version 1, but really i made this for
what look's good on my map...but if you think that it will be a problem, then
i will see what i can do. :)

i was unsure about hippos as a resource, but the thing is, like u said, they were
a BIG part (pun intended ;)) of egyptian life. the males being a symbol of evil,
the females being a symbol of fertility. the egyptians didn't get allot of red meat
in their diet (since it's expensive to raise cattle for meat), so the hippo hunt
was a big deal. plus they weren't endangered in 1560 BC lol! :p

i already have a building and splash for the Hippopotamus Hunt for the egyptians,
and i'm gonna have something like the "Cult of Set" for the hyksos...something like that.

anyway....i'll see if i can get it looking better, and i appreciate all the feedback! :D
