I needed a name for an internet forum, my friend immediately suggested this for no real reason. I liked it, I used it.
I feel it's unique, and I do like how it can be immediately shortened to 'Kan', which I never really appreciated before I started posting on CFC. And I never really realised how it could be manipulated for Wrath of Khan purposes before I started using the chatroom

I live in the lands of the ice and snow; hence, North. I also use Snow, on occasion. King is a very medieval sounding title, and I like that; back when I picked it, I also felt something like a king myself. Nowadays I mostly just like the ring to it.
Plus there's that added bonus with having the abbreviation confused with North Korea.

I took the name from the Greatest Air Pirate of All Time for the Greatest Game of All Time.
The first part is a Tolkien-inspired name I gave myself in high school (meaning "the one who walks alone", long story), the second is the city I served my mission in, and putting them together was inspired by a short lived TV show I never saw, but which nonetheless starred a hot chick.
