According to the NPD Group, retail sales of PC games exceeded $970 million in 2006, slightly more than the $953 million it reported for 2005. Note that the number doesn't include sales generated through subscription fees, micropayments, or digital distribution of games.
World of Warcraft is the best selling PC game but The Sims 2 dominated the Top 10 Best Selling PC Games of 2006 list with five entries (!). Good news is Civilization IV is on the list too, at #9!
