Before I launch a second playable version, I have to work on:
- units power balance
- add new units, civilizations, city improvement and the wonders
- give more attention to the seafaring units
- develop a tech tree
- re-place/add/remove cities and building in the map
- make few others changes.

POST OLD DESCRIPTION:

Hi everyone! :) Well, there is a long time that I don’t post on these boards, but I’m back for one more shoot. I have discovered recently that Warner Bros will release this March the movie “300” inspirited in the same name graphic novel of Frank Miller. This is the history of the King Leonidas and his 300 Spartans guards that leaded a small Greek army against the Xerxes’ forces, a Persian army with more than a million warriors. This fight occurred in the pass of Thermopylae, Greece, in 480BC and was won by Xerxes, but after several losses. For more information about this battle check Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Thermopylae . So, I was bored in this raining weekend and decided to create a fan game inspirited in this movie, but since I’m not able to do a decent game yet I have decided to create a fan mod. And I fell good to come back create to Civ3 again.
The artworks are here, the units are ready and animated, I just have to export all them. And of course, I have to remember how to do all that convertion stuff, as palettes, *.flc file… Both LHs were done and exported, but I have found trouble to export the file to *.flc , my Jasc Animator Pro 3 looks like wired. This mod will not have any new wonder, all them are from Greece, I must decide about the tech tree and I’ll draw a medium size map of the region myself. I tried to create these artworks the closest possible of the Miller’s graphic novel one’s.

Civilizations

They are just two: Spartans allies and Persian Empire. The 1st image shows the comic book image, the 2nd the movie image and the last one is the game LH (animated and with PCXs).

looks good! really like the leaderhead, and the modeling is fantastic!
maybe for the archers you should have them pull the arrow from their quiver and pull the string back? at the moment it seems like the arrow just appears, they touch the bow and the arrow flies.

Very nice, can't wait. The units look great, but Xerxes just looks freaky.

Hi! Good suggestions, I'll try this in the next archery units ;) Thanks!

Agreed, this Xerxes bold version full of jewels and cape is a bit freak

THis is crazy, my Golden age claim was no lie. I can see every day that goes by the lifeblood of CIv3 will never run dry!.

Its a great day to see this master back in action. I have one of his greats on my Trophy mantle already. He also writes a pedia book. Thanks CivArmy for never giving up! Your awesome.

This is Great CivArmy :D

Happy to see you back :)

If you need a map i can propose something as well :)

Hi! :) I was looking for a good one 5 minutes ago, please, post the link! I have in mind a regular size map or a small one for this scenario. The settlers r not present here, I want full war here :D

BTW, thank you folks for all the welcome back messages!!! :goodjob:

Here are the names of the cities in that map:

mapgreece2.PNG

Countries:

Green--- Persian Empire (+Macedonia, since they allowed passage)
Yellow--- Greek Allies of Persian Empire
Brown---Neutral Greeks
Light Blue---Epirus (neutral)
Red---Greek Alliance against Persia

:)

Note: Corinth is the one near Megara. The other dot is Sikyon (between Patrai and Corinth). Whereas Sikyon was neutral, Corinth was part of the alliance.

Wow!! Great to see you back in business, Dan!!

We now have a number of very eagerly awaited projects: it looks like 2007 could see the best Civ III mods ever - and this one will be one of the best of them. There's some great units there. Are you making a greek worker?
