Who should run the 1st term election?

Simple question, who do you think should run the 1st term election? Subsequent terms can be run by whomever the rules point to at that time.

My opinion held for a bit to see what others think. :)
 
Bah - you beat me to it!.

My suggestion is a quick sign-up period (2 days), followed by a single poll (3 days). Most votes wins it.

DaveShack and ravensfire, both of you having been doing a really great job of getting DG2 up and going. I suggest either or both of you deserve to run the first term election, and I nominate both of you.

Running the election of course doesn't prevent either of you from running for office.

So I'm curious - given that this is the first term, limited offices and apparently some excitement, what would you all think about opening nominations early? As in on Monday? It would give us something to talk about during this dead time - we've just about got everything wrapped up.

Thoughts?

Why don't we move the whole election cycle up a few days? You know, to give the new members of the government time to coalesce and plan. We can start the cycle on Monday, and start the term on the first of March as usual.
 
That would only be one day early. The complaint, if there were any, would be starting nominations before the offices have been ratified. With a runaway vote, close to 80% in favor, it seems not to be a problem.
 
Expect to see the nomination threads going up some time tomorrow morning!
