Loading Error: Caught unhandled exception creating XML parser object

After months of playing Civilization IV, I first came across this problem just before Christmas. Since then, I've been frustrated and unable to play the game. I've updated to msxml6, I've looked at my ATI driver, I've been through a whole lot. In my quest to play Civilization once more, I have come across a file named ThemeParseLog, however, which looks like it may be the answer to my problems (or an indicator of the cause). It contains the following:

Am I right in thinking that the error's to do with missing files in

C:/Program Files/Firaxis Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 4/Resource/Fonts

? If so, could you perhaps indicate how I could rectify the problem. I may be far off the real problem, but I feel it's the closest I've got so far.

Firstly, did you try the fix in this post?

Secondly, what fonts do you have there?

I've attached mine (including the licence agreement) - they're free to be distributed.

I tried copying your fonts into my file - they were already present. I also had a look at some of the solutions you posted, I think I've seen them before but I thought there'd be no harm in retrying them. I tried updating my MSXML Parser, changing my language option to English (United States), adjusting my soundcard settings - and I still see the same error!

Thank you very much for your time, but I'm afraid I've pretty much given up hope with this.
