Yusutan Social Revolutionary Party Manifesto
First Edition

Our glorious state of Yusutan, loved by it’s citizens and feared by it’s enemies is a nation still in it’s infancy, but with the potential to bourgeon into a prosperous Empire. However, difficult times are ahead of us. A strong leader is needed to carry us onward and mistakes in this early stage could cost us dearly in the long run. We members of the Yusutan Parliamentary Party, believe that there are several key issues that need addressed and we believe that the electorate need to challenge the government on these issues.

Part I-The Constitution

The Constitution is a fundamentally flawed document that needs to be reworked. Article D needs another sub clause attached stating that if a Candidate is running for an office, he cannot be in charge of the election. This should be a basic measured enforced strictly to insure against allegations of and attempts at electoral fraud.

Part II- Democratic Rights

Yusutan claims to be a democratic nation yet fundamentally, the government is not answerable to the people through a governmental body. Therefore, we propose the establishment of a People’s Parliament that would elect 5-10 citizens per month to stand as MPP’s who could put forward challenges to the government and act as the official opposition to any regime.
Any laws passed by this Parliament would have to be approved by the People’s Senate who would have up to 5 MPS’s who would only be eligible by having held an office previously and would have to be nominated by at least two others who are either currently in office or have held an office.

Part III- The Cabinet

Our party would comprise of a Cabinet as follows:

President
Vice-President
Minister for War and Intelligence
Minister of Foreign Affairs
Minister for Culture
Minister of the Interior

This six man cabinet would meet and decide party policy which would then be put through Parliament and the Senate and, if approved, the motion would be carried.

Part IV- The Party’s Vision

Ultimately are goal must be to grow to be the dominant nation on Earth. We must prosecute wars against our weaker rivals in the early days so they do not hinder our expansion later. We must expand as much as possible in the early days, while not overstretching ourselves. Economically, we must seek to have access to all resources so as to have no need to trade with the eventual aim of practicing autarky and thus, being reliant on no-one. To do this, it will be necessary to have a large military to capture resources we are not fortunate enough to locate within our borders.

Part V-Membership of the Party

The Party will be open to all regardless of background, race or colour. The only prerequisite is to be a supporter of our Manifesto. To become a member, contact myself explaining briefly why you wish to become a member.

so each decision would have to go through a discussion...making of the law, Prime minister and/or 6 men cabinet than another 6 men cabinet for parliement then another steps for the senate to be approved...we'll be conquered by the time we make the decision of declaring war...

question : are you planning a coup?

No no no. The Cabinet would come up with an idea and put it to the Parliament. The Parliament and Cabinet would take a vote together so in all a maximum of 16 votes would be possible. If a there was a two thirds majority, this would be taken to the Senate where up to 5 people would vote and if again, there was a two thirds majority, it would be come law.

Really it's quite simple and the Senate would act as a safety net incase a government is perhaps making a decision in the interests of themselves rather than the country.Hope that clarifys things.

question : are you planning a coup?

No, why do you ask?

Look, I tried a national parliament idea before. It didn't work out.

The legislature is the people. That's the beauty of having less than 200 citizens.

You might want to look at my proposals for parliamentary government, though. They're buried in there somewhere...

I've been dabbling in the design of symbols lately, and came up with this perfectly good design for a left-wing organization:

democraticsocialistsix2.png

What do you think? (if it looks a bit rough, I'm sorry; I didn't really have time to photoshop it properly.) If you like it, you can have it.

The red arrow symbolizes the left (duh). I pulled the motif from the [wiki]Party of the European Left[/wiki], but made it less cartoonish.

I think it might complicate things further, good idea though!!!#

Part III- The Cabinet

Our party would comprise of a Cabinet as follows:

President
Vice-President
Minister for War (This could be expanded to further positions as our military grows)
Ambassador for [NATION] (One for each nation. In control of espionage units)

Minister for Culture
Minister of the Interior (Eventually Mayor of [REGION] (One for every 3-5 cities)
This six man cabinet would meet and decide party policy which would then be put through Parliament and the Senate and, if approved, the motion would be carried.

Part VI-Civics

Government Civic:
I think that our overall aim should be too pursue Universal Suffrage for the obvious benefit, that if we grow wealthy enough, we shall be able to use money to hurry production. However, I think the merits of a Police State need serious consideration as it would be of great use to use if we plan any wars of expansion; naturally this will depend on the strength of our rivals.

Legal Civic:
I think we should make our first goal to research Civil Service thus enabling us to opt for the Civic Bureaucracy. This +50% gold and production in our capital city could be of great benefit to us when we are trying to build up our gold reserves and the production could be used to help our military grow to the size our large empire will require. From here we can research Nationalism which will allow us to adopt Nationhood. The drafting ability this will give us will allow us to free up units at home for a prolonged war or for a war in which we will make much territorial gain.

Labour Civic:
Slavery must certainly be what we go all out to achieve until we are able to adopt Universal Suffrage. The ability to sacrifice population for production will only serve to help us widen the gap in our favour between ourselves and rival nations. This must be a civic we attempt to achieve. Once we have achieved Universal Suffrage, Emancipation can rapidly follow.

Economic Civic:
We must go all out to establish State Property. This is the only civic that will allow us to grow and maintain an Empire.

Religious Civic:
The Party does not believe that religion is of particular importance therefore we suggest keeping Paganism. However, our overall goal must be to pursue Free Religion.

Part VII- Electoral Reform

The Party is committed to Electoral Reform. Currently our system is blighted by the bias from polls that reveal their results while the election is still on going. This undoubtedly effects the way people vote and such influencing of the electorate cannot be allowed to continue if we are to refer to ourselves as a democracy with any credibility.
We therefore propose a reform that would lead to the results of election polls remaining hidden until they close. This would require an amendment to the Election Act of 4000 BC and of the Constitution but we believe that if it can be done, it should be done.
