Custom Python Functions

Is it possible to add your own custom python functions?
eg. functions to axs a web page or write to a file stream etc?

I would like to make a menu that loads on the start of MP games grabs the names of players and goes out to the web and grabs their statistics etc.

If someone could lead me in the right direction that would be great I had no success wading through all the posts.

Check the code of Winamp modcomponent. I think it's rather close of what you are looking for.
