As you all may already know, I have created a Term 2 High Council thread in order to help bring our officers together in our discussions. As I have stated, this is an experiment of mine, but it won't work without the support of both the officers and citizens. To best use this experiment I've decided to bring the discussion here to find out how you all think it would be best to use the High Council.

Now remember, the reason I created the Council thread was to find a way to keep the officers discussing amongst themselves how they plan on running things. Basically, keep them working as a team, rather than as individuals. Please keep that in mind when making your suggestions or stating your opinions.

*shrug* I'm neutral towards the idea.

Honestly - if I feel the need to make a point, I'll make it where I feel most appropriate. The "no speech" clause isn't illegal, as it's nothing that can be enforced, and you're just requesting it. It doesn't make too much sense though, and the "ask someone to post for you" is even worse. I've been out of a classroom for quite some time now.

While this may help some with coordination, it does increase the number of areas that I need to read to keep up with what's going on. Did leader X post in this thread, or that one, or both? Which one has the latest, relevant comments?

The threads here with the COUNCIL: tag are really, really nice. I hope you keep up with them, and use them to drive strategies, not tactics.

Good luck!

I believe and hope Methos idea can be the way to "transform" several

individuals into one team.

Go on!

Best regards,

The government thread is an idea we've tried before, with very spotty results. It will work good in terms where all (or at least most of) the officers want it to work.

Tagging the threads might work, and using COUNCIL as the tag instead of STRATEGY might make them more appealing.

I think this can be very effective as long as the higher ups make sure to post long term plans well in advance of the turnchat date. This plans wouldn't need to be detailed, but they should tell the elders how they fit into the overall scheme, and what units are requested of their cities.

Note: By higher ups I mean the chieftain, and the warlord, or any other cabinet positions that may be added.

I'm fine with the Council idea. In a completely open, public forum can sometimes be difficult to properly coordinate plans if too many voices want to heard at once. A game like Civilization requires good coordination amongst the leaders, especially when planning out strategy.

The current format of the thread is perfect, in my opinion - the discussion does take place out in the open - rather than a secretive locale off-forum, or via PM. Leaders are left with a place to discuss plans without interruption, and the interested citizen can interject if need be, thus highlighting an issue that might warrant wider discussion in its own thread in the citizens forum.

High concil is really just a sought of parliament/cabinet isn't it, we, the citizens elect them, they make decicison on how to run the country. Thats how I see it in simple terms

Good idea though, we can how see what we are doing without going through every thread.

I'm mainly concerned with using the council to just keep all the officials communicating with each other. I'm beginning to like the COUNCIL threads a lot and use the main council thread like dutchfire did, where he stated the worker discussion was being brought up.

Hopefully this helps keep everyone in contact with each other.
