TIMELINE
4000 BC- Rome founded.

I go for BW and IW immediately. Build a strong military and found a second city, Antium.

1680 BC- Declare war on England
Praetorians rush England after a small build up outside of London's borders.

1600 BC- London is razed

Raze London but realize London was in a good spot to put a city.

1440 BC- Raze York; England Destroyed

Chased Victoria to York and razed it. That was England's last city. Built Cumae on top of London.

1000 BC- Declare war on Greece

Praetorian build up in Athens' southwest border. Small stack of Praetorian and Axemen outside of Sparta.

950 BC- Raze Sparta

It was the holy city of Judaism, but it had a population of one, so I had to raze it.

875 BC- Capture Athens; Greece destroyed

Through a Southwestern route invaded Athens with two waves of Praetorians, the second one took the city. It was the holy city of Buddhism so I had to keep it. This was Alexander’s last city, so he was destroyed.

525 BC- Declare war on the Aztecs

Montezuma was on a peninsula, and my borders kept him from getting out and expanding.

450 BC- Capture Tenochtitlan; Aztec destroyed

My Prateorians captured Montezuma’s capital and only city. Kept it because it was Hinduism’s holy city.

1 AD-Declared war on Japan

After a large Praetorian build up (20-some) I declared war on Tokugawa.

125 AD- Raze Kyoto

I razed Kyoto which was in the middle of the Japanese Empire. Edo is founded after this as a place for the ruler to go that would be a little harder for me to find.

200 AD-Raze Tokyo

Chased Tokugawa to Tokyo and it fell to my Praetorians 75 years later.

300 AD- Raze Osaka

Chased the government to Osaka and when I razed it, Tokugawa’s score was still over 100!

450 AD- Raze Edo; Destroy Japan; Win by Conquest

It took me a turn or two to find it, but I did, and I razed it. That was Tokugawa’s last city, so I had just won a Conquest victory!

VICTORY
Conquest, Score of 20427, Leadership skills of Augustus Caesar, Game score of 953

Should I play on Warlord or just Chieftain with aggressive AI?

Nice victory. I'd recommend moving up to Warlord (I'm assuming you're on Chieftan). Given your strategy in this game, Aggressive AI wouldn't have made much difference if any at all. The AI is still annoyingly peacelike with Aggressive AI; I play with it all the time because I can't stand the AI never fighting wars with itself.

You also might want to challenge yourself with a non-Rome game. You obviously have the praetorian rush concept down.

Nice and fast victory:thumbsup:
