Side note: I did not jot down notes for this first session, which ran from 4000BC to 350AD. There are only 16 civs on a huge map of the world.

This is my start position. I built the capital here, which wasn't a very good idea, but I lucked out and found a goody hut that gave me a settler for my second city.

Here is my second city.

My 3rd city and first coastal city.

My 4th city, which was built for the horse resource.

And a final screen that shows how far I have explored and expanded. As you can see, I am not very technologically advanced, but neither is the rest of the world. I am somewhere in the more advanced half, but I am not the most advanced.

The only thing I see wrong so far is that if you created some nice settler only towns and popped out settlers a bit faster, then you could've smushed your towns together a bit more, which would've helped considering the map you're playing...I think.

Other than that, what difficulty is this?

And also...your towns are what...8 squares apart? Wow.

Ok, I'm going to have to bump in and stop you there.

If you're trying world domination at Chieftan, you're not really showing off your skills or anything...because...well...it's chieftain.

So posting so many pics at once isn't such a good idea, and I think you should do what some people do in chieftan story-threads, which is Ask for advice and help after a certain amount of moves.

Other than that, it's not really "Hey, look at me conquer the world with my amazing power!"...because...well...

...It's Chieftain!

I don't think the OP wanted to show off or anything, IMO he just wanted to make a story out of his game. Sure, give him advice if you spot his mistakes. What level does the OP usually play at? If it's chieftain, then it should be challenging enough for him. No reason to scoff at anyone's game and story just because you play at a different difficulty setting.

:)

This is actually the difficulty I normally play Civ at, because I don't play often enough to get much better at it, which results from having too many game addictions (cutting back to just SimCity4 and Civ3 now though). With a bad start position, I can fail at even Chieftain.

I'm going to be playing tonight, so I might have something tonight or tomorrow for the story.

:smug: Did you meet any other AI?
Any wars?
Did you compare the AI army with your?

Are the green cities under your capital Aztech? Beware of them!

At chieftain level I can give you some advice! :smug:

So long as you're enjoying your game, it's good enough. I just hate seeing people being mean, that's all. An RL habit I guess :)

Civverguy's right, don't build wonders. Focus on expansion, get as many cities as you can until there's no more land to grab, then build up your military and start conquering :king:
