The start, which isn't too shabby. I've moved the worker already to see what else there may be.

lurker's comment: Oh, Eldar, this should be fun to watch!!! You'll need that tight spacing just to defend against the raging barbs. :crazyeye:

VCs? Umm, good point.

For some reason, the first one that popped into my head was "Conquest". But that would be insane, wouldn't it? Okay - has a Continents OCC Conquest been done at Emp? Because if it has, then surely this would rank as easier :D

So we'd need boats... but Spain are Seafaring! So no problem :crazyeye:

lurker's comment: As I am attempting to make the leap from Monarch to Emperor I'll be following this one with interest.
I tried an AW (space race) with the Koreans and got caught in AA trench warfare with the Spanish. So back to the drawing board and studying the relevant texts for me

Less of the lurker's comment: lurkers, more sign-ups, c'mon, be brave. Or would you like the difficulty level notched up (DG? Deity...?)

Or perhaps I should just change the game to a Sid AW Pangaea.

This sounds so stupid that it's just got to be a great game. I'd like to sign up please, eldar.

interesting...interesting, indeed.

BUT...I have too much stuff going on right now, so I cannot sign up :(

by the way, is there some sort of way you can sign up so that all of your posts say "lurker's comment", or do you just have to manually do it (i.e. underline it and make the color green)

lurker's comment: thanks, tone!! very important stuff, indeed! :)

(this is also my first post using the delurk indicators...a trial post, if you will)

I would like to try my hand at this. I've been lurking around for a while, so I get the feeling about how SGs go. Never made it all the way through a 5cc though, but I get the gist of it.

Emperor level is comfortable for me. DG w/o Agri Civs is where it starts to get difficult (I still cant get over the fact that they start w/ two Settlers).

So in short, sign me up, and help guide me through.

Edit: Crap, realized my post seemed kind of brazen.
I would like to join the team, and if you guys would let me on, that would be great. If not, understandable. Thank you.

(Much better)

Probably a bad question, but does the CXC spacing allow for one long line? As in 1X2XCapitalX3X4? (9*5 + 8*2=45+16=61)

That would probably net you more tiles than a square with one appendage, right? (25 central tiles + 20 surrounding + 9 = 54)

There's probably an optimal pentagon or something.

unless you can use diagonal CXC, which is very close to just CXXC.

As long as it's ICS spacing, it's fine. Any of the above would be acceptable :)

lurker's comment: Looking at the screenie, the lands seems quite fertile.

Should probably scout E-SE first as the freshwater seems to be in that direction.

I'd move settler SE to reduce the number of coastal squares, but unfortunately the cow would not be available immediately.

So we'd need boats... but Spain are Seafaring! So no problem

However staging an intercontinental invasion without being able to found a beachhead town for supplies/healing is very hard. Plus boats costs support that could be used for more land units.
