Please could the unit creators out there consider doing any Indian units for Anno Domini? Here's some images to give you a feel for what I'm looking for:

The Chakra thrower would be brilliant out of this lot - though any would be appreciated!!

An Indian chariot would be fabulous; this is one unit beyond my current capabilities:

On the chance of being of use to anyone interested in making Indian units who wants help with concept art & historical info, and at the risk of boring or aggravating those who already follow my posts, I offer my services as a research assistant.

Some really cool units there. I'd love to see them.
I'd also like Ram's Indian Martial Artist w/ a sword or an urumi.

Seconded. Or fourthed. :crazyeye:

If anyone made these units I would certainly find a place for them all. This is a long overlooked area that deserves to be addressed. :gripe:

If any of these units is made, it will go in Steph's mod 2 as well.

India is probably my civ with the less flavour units available :(

Any chance you could either convert some units from Blue Lotus - as per your previous conversions - or point in the right direction of a tutorial/tools for converting? Gaias was looking to do this around December, but didn't have time to do it; in the meantime, I believe Blue Monkey had sorted out permission from the game company for the units to be converted.

Sadly, I don't own it either; however, here's some information from the thread Gaias opened:

Well the files used for RTW are .cas files. There is only one importer/exporter that I know of and it was made by Vercingetorix for 3ds max. The files do not need to be converted to anything as they can be manipulated within 3ds max, along with the animations. I am not too sure that the files would convert very well to another format, which could be read by another 3d application.

This is a complete quote of the copyright statement from the Blue Lotus forum (italics added by me):
Copyright: Blue Lotus is not supported by CA and is a non profit making enterprise. This is a Beta version and may be buggy. All images and contents are copyright of their respective creators.
Feel free to re-use any original BL content in any other non-profit mods as long as the respective artists are credited. If possible contact us for details on authors.

I'll seek specific permission and how they want credits stated.

I doubt it, this seems to be 3D sprites, I work from 2D sprites (similar to what you get when exporting FLC to storyboard, or when using SBB to create a unit). So I could use bmp, pcx, png....

However, I cannot look at it further at the office, I'll try from home where I have more tools

Once again, thank-you :goodjob: ! I don't know how to convert such files, otherwise, I'd be giving it a go myself.

^ I agree. The golden warriors are really cool. Where did you get the concept art from, R8XFT?

Consider these..... eighth, I guess. Absolutely great looking and much needed.

OMG, your back.

It seems we're slowly dragging you legends from the pits of real life and onto the peaks of CFC. :D
