Plan for our waiting settler

We still have one settler waiting to found a city, I see good signs that our maintenance spending is decreasing and we may be ready to found this new city. We have two things to figure out though, first do we want to found this city now? Given we're still losing gold at 50% research, and that we may soon be invading Rome. But also considering that the Romans have a galley with a settler in their south western port, probably ready to sail to our undeveloped coast.

Also if we do want to found this city we need to know where to found it. My suggestion would be that we place it here

This will get us cows horses and silk in this city and will fill in the area preventing the Romans or the Germans from sneaking a settler in behind our lines. We may also choose to found a city further north, however this will require a second settler to fill in the area behind it.

I agree with settling that site, but I don't think that we should build new settlers at the moment. (Military is more efficient for getting new territory )

I agree I definitely don't want to build another settler yet, I referenced the need for a second settler if we were to select a more northern site for this settler, leaving the suggested position open.

Finally, that spot becomes colonised! Look ath the luxury and horses! It'll be a good town (but not too productive).

Seeing as things have changed significantly with the way our deficit is going, and at least one citizen has requested to change his vote, I've decided to bring this to a re-poll for the next turnchat.
