("Midland" is not necessarily the same thing as "Midwest") The default, lowest-common-denominator American accent that newscasters try to imitate. Since it's a neutral accent, just because you have a Midland accent doesn't mean you're from the Midland.

Interesting that I'm in Wisconsin and I and everyone everyone I see speaks Midland. Maybe I watch too much TV.

Also got the northern...

Midland here, though I hail from the Northwest...

Northern

You have a Northern accent.

Curiously enough, I have a Northern English accent (North East; Gateshead to be more precise, although it's significanly diluted after 10+ years of not living there).

I got middle.

Midland. I'm actually from north New Jersey though.

Can someone explain this question:

15. If you say words like TIME, RIDE, MILE, I, etc., we all know that there`s a way people down South say those words. Don`t lie about it, how often do you ever say those kind of words like that?

Maybe your education was influenced by PA (midland)?

It'd be nice if the test was actually based on sound bites, too.

I'm guessing you need to rent Gone With The Wind and pay attention to Scarlet O'Hara's speaking parts. This question is worded pretty bad.

Can you give me examples on how they pronounce them? I'm from the South, but I don't know if I am saying an accent or not.
