Thanks to SwordofGeddon for the idea and C.Roland as I used his Galleass Skin.

Just something between the Trireme and the Galleass, or a Medieval Warship.

The model is good, but I think there needs to be more detail and variation in the hull. It's a little too... well, brown.

Also, didn't medieval Mediterranean galleys use lateen sails? :hmm:
 
Yes, I realize it is a little too brown, I can most likely do a new skin. :)

About the lanteen sails..
Probably, I guess I can redo it, maybe if I changed the back one to lanteen?
 
The back one would look better (as a lanteen sail) at a 90° angle with the front ones. :yup:
 
Ok, thanks. I will swipe the one from C. Roland's Galleass, I am sure he wouldn't mind! And do a bit more texturing also. Do you think it would look ok with the original galley's texture?

On a side note, the funny thing is, the original galley is essentially a Viking Longboat, and the were constructed in a different manner than the Mediterranean ships if I remember correctly. The Viking and other Norther European ships were build with there planking overlapping, the Mediterranean ones were build with them laying along side each other.
When they combined the types they got the caravel I think..

I got the lateen sail in, just need to reskin the hull.

Not yet, I started something but I have no idea what one really looked like. All I know are galleass's (From that era) and they have cannon to spice it up.

I created on from the Civelopedia for my mod if that would work...
 
Mediterranean galleys, galleasses, galiots, etc had lateen sails. They were triangular shaped like the current galleas and they were powered by rowers mostly. Take a look at the ships in the civIII database to get some sort of idea. I know they have lots of ships to look from.

Yes, I added the lanteen sail but I didn't want to upload it without a better skin.
