One day I decided to experiment with RFC a bit, so I rolled a number of American starts to see how the world unfolds. I noticed that in two starts I rolled so far, there is no English presense in South Africa - maybe they should have a higher priority for it?

Anyway, the second start was quite interesting. I noticed that the English got the Conquerors event and the Germans and the Turks carved up Russia (good to see some evidence of hot AI-on-AI action).

But this was even more interesting:

What are these Spanish settlers and longbows are doing in Greenland? They must fell really cold... Poor things. :(

So I edited the map to lock Greenland with water ice terrain completely. Hope I'll see no more of this Arctic Spanish Syndrome.

And does anybody feel the Great Lighhouse is too often placed in Artaxata?

Yeah...

When Queen Isabella seized the power in Spain, she decided to clear her kingdom from all the heathens, heretics, Muslims and Jews. So, they all were chained and put into Galleons, who, obeying Isabella's orders, sailed until they met the cold, barren beach of Greenland, where the poor outcasts were forcefully disembarked.

This is an example of atrocity made in the name of religion. Modern historicians say that it was more profitable for Spain to colonize the New World, like the prosperous Eglish kingdom did, but Isabella choose to waste the people of her country in such a horrible way, which clearly illustrates all the harm religious zealotry can do to countries of this world.

There are two more settlers in this picture. One under the Musket in the south, other under the Longbow in north-east.

It seems that glitch like that is very rare, but still, you'd better block Greenland with water ice to be on the safe side.
