Unlocked WBS for BTS version of RFC

If you wondered why America isn't playable in 600 AD start and all modern civs aren't in the 3000 BC one, the official reason is that a civ whose loading time is > 15 minutes shouldn't be offered as option in a official release.

Fortunately unlocking those civs is very easy.
You can edit the WBS yourself or use the ones here:

EDIT: from now on (November 2008), the updated WBS are included in the patch. No need to download them separately

BTS is out already in Australia, Italy, and possibly other places in Europe. You can download these files freely now.

I went to a Lanhouse and they already had BTS o_o ( just don't ask me how they did it

Cheers Rhye, I think that these files should be in the first patch, its not as if anyone is being forced to play as the later civs and another choice of civ is a good thing.

Can't wait to actually play the game now...

In case anyone doesnt know what to do with the files I think you replace the ones in mods/Rhyes and fall of civilization/privatemaps with these

You'd be able to switch to them though, right? Like if I started as China, and switched to Turkey or something?(assuming Turkey is out on the China start.. if not, just say U.S.)

My thing is that it gives an estimated waiting time under each civ before you select them. So if you choose America, and it says 30 minutes before you can play, you know what you're getting into. Sadly, people are unobservant and stupid. So they would likely miss the white, bold text.

And I will have to wait 'till the Russian translators will translate the game to Russian (5-6 months) so that I can turn language back to English when I finally get it.

Why don't you order the english/american/whatever version, for example on amazon.com/co.uk?
I'm getting it tomorrow here in Germany
