2. Rename "Sid Meier's Civilization IV" in My Documents/My Games, to "Sid Meier's Civilization IV v1.61".
3. Install the BTS.
4. Run from one directory or the other to get the version you want. You'll also be able to install mods separately for the two versions, save games will be separate for the two versions, etc. The new version will have a clean install with no mods, which is probably what you want (since many old mods won't work).
Nope, can't say that I do.You already have BTS?!
Does anyone know what they do yet?
Yes, but I don't think it's been officially announced yet.![]()
edit: hm...perhaps I should have just clicked on those links, rather than asking questions![]()
I've been digging this up forever. Here it is again, slightly edited for the current times:
No programing required.I don't have BTS yet, so it's not an issue but ... this just gets so complicated, especially for we mere sub-mortals who don't program or write in C.
I really don't understand step 4 - I run the programs from desktop icons, and I don't understand what this means in that context. How does it work?
That's an interesting question. With Locked Modified Assets checked, there would be zero compatability. Are there any known issues with compatibility between 2.08 saves and 2.13 saves? I've got several games in progress but I have to patch NOW for some multiplayer games, and don't have room to dual-install.
Keep in mind that if these are HOF games, they have to be finished with the mod they started in. We don't allow multipatch games, if they work. Are there any known issues with compatibility between 2.08 saves and 2.13 saves?
